What is the plug between the speakers called? They look like 4 pin ATX cables but smaller... Looking for an extension cable to increase the distance!!!
Does anyone know what the simple audio listen speakers version of Bluetooth is ?, I have a pair of this speakers and a device with Bluetooth 4.0 connects ok, but a Bluetooth 4.2 device will not even see the speakers.....help please.
Greg.s
I'm not sure myself but my S9+ (BT 5.0) pairs just fine with mine
Does anyone know if there are driver updates or firmware updates for these speakers? I got them during the last drop. They've been crackling a lot whenever I multitask. For example; If I have YouTube on one tab and I am browsing any other website whenever that new site is loading the audio cracks and breaks until the page is done loading. It happens on Chrome or IE.
I've tried connecting them through my computers Bluetooth and I couldn't get a descent audio.. it was just constant cracking and white noise.
When I try to go to the Simple Audio Website for support it just brings me to their Roomplayer support articles. There are no articles for just the speakers.
Would love to see another drop for these!
any idea if or when these speakers will drop again?
Darn, wish i got these in the last drop! Hopefully enough people request it again.
Man today was an unlucky day for me. I was in love with these speakers, but today they decided to take a plunge on me. They are a simple, elegant, and great audio solution for my workstation but now they are outputting distorted sound. At first I thought it was an issue with my audio driver due to reinstalling it. I tried plugging the speakers into different computers and the issue persisted throughout the rest of the computers. To make sure it wasn't the usb cable I used the aux plug for the first time and it was faulty... The aux plug was loose, whenever I put small amount of pressure to the left of the aux plug it would stop playing sound or output a loud af distorted sound. :[ man I just lost my faith in quality for these. These also originally cost about 500. massdrop please halp. :(
Back again... The intermittent dropouts I have been having with these speakers are continuing, and seem to be getting worse.
I have the speakers connected using only USB. The problem is, I will hear a relay click and all audio output stops. Sometimes it is a one-click off, then it will click on again. Sometimes it gets stuck in a clicking loop and doesn't work until I power cycle the speakers. During the clicking, either the bluetooth or line-in lights will be toggling. I have not connected any devices using bluetooth, and I do not use the line-in.
This is very annoying, especially considering there is no (apparent) way to disable the other inputs.
I'm in the process of being refunded. I have to ship them to Corsair and then it's another 4-6 weeks before the refund will go through.
It seems like many retailers still have Simple Audio Listens in stock. Another drop of them is possible, just consider that if they break you will have no way of having them repaired.
I bought a set from NCIX for $135 three months ago. After light use they simply stopped outputting audio. Oddly they still output audio through headphones plugged into the aux out jack. That means the DAC is working and I've tested them with four other computers, two phones and two monitors. Each time reproducing the same malfunction.
The Corsair technician I spoke with was super helpful but also as baffled as I was. I'm bummed, these were great speakers while they lasted.

Did you get them refunded in the end? Or your still stuck with a pair of speakers that cant "speak"?
Heads up to anyone buying these now, Corsair (Simple Audio) no longer produces these speakers. In the event that you need to have them repaired or submit an RMA Corsair will only be able to potentially refund you.

I guess the chances of these speakers going back on massdrop will be slim... I'm glad I've caught on the bandwagon before they're out of stock!

Just ordered the Simple audio Listen. Is the carrier UPS or Fedex or USPS?
So many online stores won't ship these speakers to me. I'm glad Massdrop are putting these back up for purchase!
When could I expect to see these shipped in this drop?
Is the headphone output on the speakers amplified?
Karaface
I dont think so. Havent been able to find any specs on it yet though
Just got mine, first impression overall is that these are excellent speakers, the high's and mids are near perfect and capture the sound of every song perfectly, the highs capture every little nuance which is awesome, reverb and delay effects feel more organic. The bass is very tight, isn't to loud but it does lack the oomph you'd get if a sub was attached, if your looking for emphasized bass these aren't for you as the overall signal is quite flat compared to the bass saturated Bose speakers (for example). Build quality is excellent, no complaints there except lack of manual controls if the touch pad breaks, the remote is awesome but they can be lost. Are these things worth $500? Probably not if your going for strictly sound quality. But when you consider it has three different outputs for sound (USB, 3.5mm, Bluetooth), a sub out, nice touch controls, great remote (it's really comfy), sturdy construction, small surface area and overall great sound they are definitely a great pair of computer/office speakers. Pair these with a sub and I bet they'd hold up to almost any high end 2.1 speakers.
So I just got mine. First impressions are good. The packaging is very nice and the speakers feel like a quality item. The sound is pretty good as well; however, it is more bassy out of the box than I would like when using the USB connection.
The line-in is on the front! I didn't realize why people were complaining about this before; I thought there was an *extra* line-in on the front. The only way you can use the analog input is with a cable coming out of the front of the speaker!
Now I have a question: every once and a while the speakers make a small click and the audio cuts out for a few seconds. Then there is another click and the sound comes back. Anyone have an idea as to what this is? Are my speakers defective or is something else going on?
smik
I had something similar to that, assuming your running windows, try right clicking the speaker icon in the bottom left hand corner of your screen, click playback devices, locate your speakers in the list, right click and choose configure speakers, go through the steps and make sure the boxes are not checked. Also if you right click and choose properties (instead of configure speakers), click the enhancements tab and make sure all enhancements are disabled. Hope that helps if that doesn't fix it maybe another device is interfering or they are defective, also to anyone having trouble connecting to bluetooth, hold down the bluetooth button until you hear a tone. You can then scan for the device and connect to it.

thank you SOOOO much, had mine for a while now and was trying to figure out why none of my devices could connect

I'm new . How does this shipping work? The balance of the speakers are to ship today on 5/18. Do we get notified that they shipped and do we get tracking numbers?
JimC
Yes. They sent me an email confirming that my package shipped. You get a tracking number if you are in the US or Canada only (I think). This information is on their FAQ page if you still have questions.
which carrier do the shipments come through?
Quick update for the group, these came in late today and our warehouse team was able to get a handful of orders out today! The remaining orders are scheduled to ship out first thing Monday ahead of schedule. We will update the group as soon as the remaining orders are shipped from our warehouse.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 5/19 or sooner if something comes up.
WHERE IS THE UPDATE PROMISED ON 5/15?
Is there any update or word on the ship date?
Great news group! The vendor has let us know that the group's order was picked up and is on its way to our warehouse now. Based on the tracking provided these are scheduled to come in 5/14. Our warehouse team has been forwarded tracking info and will be standing by, ready to get these packed up and turned around as soon as they come in.
Sometimes shipments get delayed en route, not to worry as we will keep the group posted throughout the process and notify you all if anything causes delay.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 5/15 or sooner if something comes up.
Is it possible to connect a subwoofer to these? (I'm specifically thinking of the KRK 10S sub)
yaoninja
Yes, there is a sub-out on the back of the control speaker

this looks awesome, but the shipping is killing me. like 70dollars.
I recently got mine and love them along with my wifi streamer/DAC. I use the analog out from my streamer to input to the Simple Audio. I also use the subwoofer output from the Simple Audio to a Guitar amp for a little bass reinforcement....although for most music it is fine without the subwoofer. It is well designed and built. The only negative is the front analog input. Although this is convenient, it is ugly having a cable stick out as input all the time. In terms of bluetooth connection, it is ok as far as bluetooth goes. There is a slight delay so don't expect to use bluetooth connection to play "live". I have to say that the bluetooth connection and the analog in connection switching is one of the smoothest functionally that I have seen. It automatically detects the analog in and switches in favour of it with a reassurring soundclick.
I would definitely recommend these at $149.99. I have them in my kitchen working as speakers for a squeezebox and they sound great for the size. I bought a Kanto sub that I was going to use to round out the bass, but they are actually fine without it.
The only annoying thing is it switches over to bluetooth from aux in (which I use for the squeezebox) every time that I get a text on my phone and it doesn't automatically switch back. It's only really a problem in my specific situation and I just leave my phone unpaired now. On the rare occasion where I want bluetooth I just re-pair it. It takes about 3 seconds.
