I've got a slightly different model of this Skagen watch (the Hagen), but it's the same size case and lug width, so I'm pretty sure they will operate identically. I've also got a Fossil hybrid smartwatch, and for whatever it's worth to anybody, Fossil makes the app for both brands. In fact, Fossil makes the apps for most brands of hybrids. I think Garmin may be the only exception. Anyway, both of my hybrids perform the same functions. The Skagen app is a little cleaner and more intuitive, but neither offer more than the very basic information about step tracking and sleep. I have given up even paying attention to those functions, though once programmed, tracking both is resident in the watch, which can store up to 30 days' worth of data, so as long as you're wearing it, it's tracking those activities and will sync with the app whenever it's launched, assuming you have Bluetooth turned on when you launch.
For the first month or so that I had the Skagen, step tracking was very consistent. I can't testify that it was accurate mind you, but it was consistent. Then one day I noticed the goal percentage monitor (the sub-dial with 25, 50, 75, 100 and hash marks in between) was showing 75% complete by about 10:00 in the morning, only a couple of hours after I'd gotten up. My normal days' steps were around 3,000 before that day. With whatever malfunction is happening, it's showing a minimum of 13,000 steps if I wear it all day. Every single motion is counted as steps, so the algorithm lost the beat apparently. Since I don't use that function anyway, I didn't see the point in invoking the warranty, and I have no idea if mine is a common problem or not, but thought I'd mention it here in any case.
Otherwise, it's a nice watch. I particularly like the find-your-phone function. A button that you can assign to the task triggers a sound file when pressed. You have to pick from Skagen's list of sound files, which I wish I could pick any on the phone, but whatever, if you forget where you set your phone down you can find it easily using that feature. It's a nice watch that I paid a little bit more than $100 bucks for, and that was for a model that MSRP is the same as this one. The "smart" features are largely useless to me, but I ain't right in the head, so don't put too much stock in that evaluation. As long as they work right, they may be just what you're lookin' for.

My battery hasn't run out yet so I can't attest to life-span. It's shown about 50% since the first time I launched the app and synced to it though. Might be another monitoring malfunction or Skagen may keep batteries on the shelf longer than they should, I don't know. I think I've had it for about three months though, and it's still showing 50%. I also don't wear it as often as I wear my Fossil, and even when I do wear it, I don't always have Bluetooth turned on on my phone, so I use less battery than most people probably do to begin with.

I've had to replace mine about every 3 months, but I set my watch to get a lot of notifications.

Pet4aYou only need the "smarts" to activate the time-keeping function of the watch. Then just uninstall the app from your phone, and the watch will never connect again. At ~$60 bucks, it's not a bad deal for a reasonably nice watch, with only one caveat: Connecting to the app is what allows the watch to sync with your phone network's time. If the watch you (might) buy loses or gains minutes, you'd need the app again, because there's no manual way to set it. I have two hybrids that I never connect via Bluetooth anymore (quit doing it about a month ago), and I haven't noticed any losing or gaining so far. I really only wear one of 'em anymore, but they're both right here at my desk and the one I don't wear is showing the exact same time as the one I'm wearing, so I think they keep pretty good time on their own anyway. The one I don't wear is a Skagen Hagen, different only in its appearance from the watch in this drop.

Can we get a picture of the back of the watch? Please. Massdrop needs to show all aspects, sides, angles of the products they sell imo. It makes me feel like they're hiding something. I know I can go online and find what I'm looking for but I feel like I shouldn't have to.

Ooof. Looks like Sakgen's just trying to dump these things at this point. Does anyone have any experience with their quality and how well they work?

vlvtshrkThe quality of the watch as a watch is excellent. As a "smart" watch it is sometimes temperamental. Sometimes I have to restart my Pixel 2 to get it to sync notifications again. This happens maybe once a week. The built-in step counter is pretty unreliable.

tmitim@vlvtshrk Adding to what @tmitim said above, I have the "Jorn", which is near-identical to this model. I love its classy looks, but even I have to admit that its step counter is not very accurate. I had a FitBit Charge 2, and where its step counter told me I averaged ~8000 steps every day, this one tells me I get ~6000. Make of that what you will.

I own one and the build quality is excellent. I am a pretty active individual and worked in the yard with it on. The leather band developed a permanent bend due to heat and sweat. Their website does offer a silicone replacement band which may be my next purchase.

I've just got my watch and I found out that it does not have mode toggle option in the app and that the colour sections on the additional dial can't be used at all. Does yours watches have the same problem? Or is it the issue with app? Maybe it's limited to specific region...

GigzBy default they do nothing. I really don't know how u can personalise them. I think that now there are useless or mayby U can use them in goals area. But I don't know that for sure, just assuming.
