I have nothing against veganism but polycrapolene is no good for this application
$30 for a polyurethane/PVC belt? These sell for around £7. Now they don't come in a fancy box that you throw in the bin, but then they don't charge for said box.
And stop calling it 'vegan leather', that is the stupidest hipster nonsense phrase.
Happy to see Massdrop offering some vegan product options in addition to the many leather options which other massdrop customers enjoy. Not sure why all the animus towards vegan products? I can only theorize, that like the gay bashing homophobe who is secretly gay. These vegan bashers are closet salad eaters and are jealous of people living a plant based lifestyle.

because lightbulbs and computers are not ordinarily made out of leather, thanks for asking.

Neither are plastic belts!
I was unaware that there were enough vegans to make it commercially viable.

I wouldn't want to try and raise a family on what MD is going to make on this drop. Seems to appeal to people who are partial petroleum products (or don't see the difference to leather) more than to people, who in conscience, don't eat (or wear) animal products.

Dont bust our balls about our preference to not wear dead animals skins like a caveman. And we wont bust your balls about your preference to play with $50 titanium tops
I'm extremely here for high-quality vegan goods.

I bet you're really fun at parties.

Sorry—booked for the rest of the year ;- )
I got one of these back in August. It’s FANTASTIC. Easy to size, quick to fasten, and after at least six months’ daily use, looks as good as the day it arrived. Highly Recommend!

No I haven’t, but I don’t wear it particularly tight. Consecutive notches are close enough that you’re not forced to (vs a regular belt). I took a closer look at the part of the belt that goes into and out of the metal buckle every day. There’s a bit of wear along a one inch section of the top edge above the notches I tighten to. There should be more wear in my opinion. None to anywhere along the front or back surfaces or the bottom edge.

That's great, thank you. I would expect a LITTLE wear considering how long you've had it so this is a nice development. Ultimately a leather belt would be ideal, but it's going to be hard to pass this one up at the price.
All these people here having hissy fits for massdrop offering a faux-leather belt. If you don't want it, that's fine - don't buy it.

Oh, oh! I didn't even read your reply to me even less!
Lets be frank, you butted your little butt-head into this conversation all by yourself, with nothing more to offer than name-calling at the get-go.
Referring to commenters (moi) who were less enthusiastic about plastic belts than you, as people having a "hissy fit", isn't exactly constructive. Of course, if that's all you've got to say, you're certainly entitled to participate--but you can't complain about my posts anymore than I can about yours--this is an equal opportunity discussion site, is it not , ma petite pop-tarte?
PS: Meilleure orthographe française maintenant, que j'ai eu le temps d'ouvrir mon ordinateur portable ;-)
People might well troll and it is entirely acceptable to me. To explain, this company is offering a plastic belt. Maybe its as good as a name brand plastic belt, say $15 worth, but that really is the limit. What this company is doing is re-imaging a plastic belt as a 'vegan' product. Now if you are daft enough to fall for such nonsense that is up to you, but some people may feel the need to point out that an over-priced plastic belt is just that, over-priced.
How can you call these vegan leather belts when there is no leather used ? They are either leather belts or non leather belts. I think you owe your customers the truth.

It's still illegal to skin Vegans in this country.

Unfortunate.
This should be removed - its offensive
varkie
disagree, but 90% of the childish vegan bashing comments on this 'discussion' should be removed.
This belt is on my "not approved" list.
What about the Mocha/gunmetal option similar to the one in the picture (#6 I believe)?
Those are some nice looking belts.
What is the width of the belt ?

I’ll chance an answer here among the hilarious fray - I bought one here about a year ago, back when they were called “SlideBelts Ratchet Belts: Classic Collection”. It is 30 mm wide (1 ¼”).
Here was that particular drop:

Thanks man I think 30 mm is going to be too small.
No such thing as Vegan Leather.

Guess I'll return my tofu hot dogs and vegan mayonnaise. They don't pass the scrutiny of some online grammar nazi.
Calaverasgrande
I see you're confused about Grammar and Definitions! You realize one has nothing to do with the other, right? For instance, you could compose a sentence correctly (grammar) and still not know what the hell you talking about (definitions)--as you've demonstrated in your embarrassingly sophomoric comment above. The term Nazi has no meaning or place in this conversation. If you weren't 14 and using your Mom's phone, I'd suggest you look up that term and lean how not to make yourself sound like an idiot next time you chose to use it.
