I Have used this pot and lid for the past several years. I've never had a problem with the lid slipping inside during use. The lid works great as a pot grabber. I just measured where 500ml is in relation to the handle peices - then go by that to get 500ml for Mountain Houses. I've never used the cup...always left it at home. 2 thumbs up on this drop from me!

bcmnthntrIf you don't mind, could you please help me test whether the silicone cup makes a watertight seal if stretched over the mouth of the pot instead of the bottom? I've always wanted to know if it could become a makeshift water carrier similar to the Vargo Bot.

FeebleOldManI filled the pot with water, then put the cup on as a lid. At first it seemed waterproof - turned it upside down, lightly shook it, ect. Then I left it on its side for 1/2 hour. When I came back some water was dripping out. I wouldn't want it in my pack full of water, however carried upright on the outside water bottle pocket would work.

bcmnthntrWhat heat source have you mostly used? I am concerned it is a bit on the narrow side so any input would be appreciated!

westcoastI use it with an MSR pocket rocket Works great. Pocket rocket has a small burner in the center, so it works well with the narrow pot (snow peak stove would be similar).
