Sony's best earbuds after the historic EX1000. Even better than IER-Z1R, from what I heard. Worth buying even in $1000.

I would consider joining the Drop if it was the Sony IER-M7 under $500.

Still zero sold with <9 hours remaining? I know most people can not afford this or don’t think IEMs are worth this much but for a brand new Sony IEM I am surprised there aren’t 5-10 buyers so far. selfishly this makes me happy because maybe they’ll consider an actual massdrop price drop. There are so many good IEMs in the sub $500 category in the last year

Tips size is wrong, I think it should list as "SS S SM M...", M is repeated for no reason.

I own the Andromeda S and Solaris. But I can tell you the IT01S punches way above its price point and at that price everyone should get a pair that wants a crazy good dynamic earphone. This is the thread about them on headfi. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/it01s-iem-a-new-view-to-your-music.894073/

@RareAirs Look into the $200 IBasso IT01S. These would shock you just how capable a $200 Single dynamic can sound now a days.. Highly recommend. Don't over look these just because there are cheaper.

DsnutsHave you heard the Sony ex1000s or Campfire audio Lyra II or Vegas? I owned the Lyra II I got on here for $400(steal)and loved them and fell ‘love’ with campfire so I purchased the Cascades and Andromedas so my Lyras weren’t getting much use so I gifted them to a friend. Many months later I regret that only because for some music I miss the Lyras sound with the DD but don’t want to spend a ton to get the Vegas or atlas.(I don’t think the Lyra II will show up here again as it seems CA is kind of slowly moving away from making the older models)

i have the Andromedas so I am going to pass however a $999 price tag would be tempting. although I am looking for a nice DD IEM to compliment my multi BA pair

I wasn't a huge fan of the R1 so it's nice to see a revision on it. I'll have to check it out but it still says in preorder status on their site. My Lyra IIs have a beryllium driver but the Atlas and Vega both have ADLC which are quite strong and can REALLY move some air. The best thing is their speed. They have the tone, texture, and tonality of a DD but bring the speed (and usually) decay from a BA; the best of both worlds. What's wild is something like the Atlas can go from playing classical to hip-hop and not miss a beat. They are arguably my most used and varied IEM for this reason. And they sound oh so big and toned the wacky peak and energy that is prevalent in the Vega (although I don't think it's as bad as some make it seem).

jaydunndidditI don't have any experience with the Atlas though you continue to peak my interest lol. I got in on the first batch of Zenith's to go out, they should be shipping out the rest of the preorders in the next week or so. I'm going to be giving them some ear time vs the Solaris here soon, I'll let you know my thoughts on that as well.

I’ve listened to them, honestly the DM6 sounds better to me... there’s no way I’d join this drop.

i disagree 100% I tried the Sony M9 and the Noble encore A/B over Christmas in a local hifi store using my my Walkman A1 as a source, the M9 were far more realistic and accurate. The bass on the Noble was artificial sounding in comparison. The M9 are better in terms of balance , tonality than my custom UE18. I bought a pair. I have previously listened to the K10 too and was not convinced they were better than my UE18s.

not a good price for a massdrop, they go on sale under $1k on accessoryjack, current price is $1090, really disappointing on you MD.

MidnighTempestI have Andromeda’s too. I use both with the stock campfire comply foam tips, but L on the acoustunes and M on the Andromedas. And they both sound really good off my iPhone 6S. In terms of sound, they actually sound quite similar. The sound signature at least. (Keep in mind the L comply foams drastically changed the same of the acoustunes, I prefer them over all the stock tips). Anyway, soundstage and imaging is fairly equal, there’s a lot more bass and impact on the acoustunes, the mids have this really nice thickness and texture but don’t sound muddy or fuzzy, just really chesty. Maybe a little more treble in the andromedas but the acoustunes tend to have a more realistic treble to me. (Bells sounds like bells, etc). the acoustunes are a little more distant sounding with these tips though, also I reckon detail is about the same but andros pull ahead in terms of detail. if I was to compare with the stock tips, the acoustunes then easily lose out in soundstage and imaging. And the sound changes to be a lot more mid-upper mid forward, but also a lot thicker - too much. For me they become too thick but the upper mids made them sound clear at the same time, it’s a bit different. They also get a good bit more bass, which again is a little too much for me. Detail sounds worse on the acoustunes, but that might be an illusion from the tuning. As always take all that with a grain of salt. That was all just a random stream of thoughs. Hope that helps!

MidnighTempestFrom my brief listening experience, I personally think m7's closest competitor is w40/ue900.
