55.5 ohms for an IEM? Do these need decent amps to run or can a phone push em?

dnosic16I don't think these need an amp. The Soundmagic E50 have an impedance of about 51 ohms, and they run on my phone just fine.

lazy956The first rule of audiophilia is that you always need a dedicated amp, preferably a tube amp, and also a DAC. Anything else is guaranteed to sound terrible to discerning ears.

YakovGolden ears know nothing of your physics! Harmonic distortion is undoubtedly a myth created by people that want to put honest companies out of business.

ChaoticKinesisBeacause the best way to make 50 dollar IEM's shine is a 50,000 dollar amp.

GalilchanOnly if it's using unobtanium-plated interconnects, capacitors, op-amps, etc. The cheaper amps can reduce the soundstage.
