Archaeologist and underwater explorer Edward Lee Spence was addicted to hunting for hidden gems and sunken artifacts. The Spinnaker Spence, which bears his name, would certainly pique his interest if plucked from a forgotten treasure chest at the bottom of the ocean Read More
I just received this watch today and I'll share my initial impressions. I got the Gold/Bronze case, black face with the green leather band.
The watch came well packaged, not like my Tag Heuer's packaging ($$$), but for the price the box fit and finish were great. Included in the box was the additional nylon band as advertised. It arrived in perfect cosmetic condition with protective plastic covering the bezel and the back of the watch. As Titorek92 mentions, the bezel isn't quite a perfect fit as there is some movement in the clockwise direction, but not something to worry in terms of price vs quality. The leather band is a bit stiff but I am sure will break in overtime. the leather is soft and feels high quality.
Overall, the watch casing is a bit thicker than I am used to and quite a bit higher profile than I like in my watches. I have never owned a Seiko movement watch before so I am sure the added thickness is probably a byproduct of the movement. But so far I really like the fit and finish of this watch, the style is nice and the colors are easy to compliment. It will be a great addition to give my other watch a break from time to time.
Nice looking watch, but terrible QC. Mine was broken from the beginning. Setting current time was almost impossible. Then the crown fell off and the watch is now completely broken. Since I am EU customer sending it back is totally cost ineffective. My advice: stay away from this brand.
On arrival, my Spinnaker had 2 issues. The mechanism was unusually loud (sounded like something was loose and much too loud even for an automatic watch) - I’m sure this is related, but my watch winder does not work with this watch. Secondly, the circle in the triangle (zero indicator) on the bezel was not aligned. I reached out to Spinnaker and even though my brand new watch had defects on arrival, they automatically charge $30 just to inspect the watch. Honestly, I don’t think another $30 is worth it for this watch. I won’t buy nor do I recommend spinnaker. If your lucky, its a bargain I suppose. But if you’re unlucky like me, you'll regret the purchase.
Item arrived in perfect cosmetic condition. However, I cannot adjust the date using the crown in the correct position. the date still changes every 24 hrs, just no way to adjust it. It’s annoying, but at 100 bucks, quality control probably isnt top notch
I love the look of this watch. I got the orange/ blue bezel with the white dial. The watch came with the leather strap and the blue/orange nato. The only reason I will not give a 5 star is the bezel won’t line up with the 12 mark And there is a little play. The little play does allow me to move the bezel a bit to be center.
Nice piece. I ordered the "Batman" execution (blue/black bezel). Love the look...the feel...the size. Not too big then again not too small. Bezel has a little play in it but not too bad. A little wobble on the crown when it's pulled out all the way to set the time.

Leather strap is said to be WR. I guess time will tell. Shipped good. Came on the leather strap but a nylon strap was included. Not a big fan of the nylon strap but who knows. Maybe I'll switch it out. Love the fact that you can wind it via the crown & the movement is hackable. At 20ATM of water resistance, I wish the crystal was sapphire as opposed to the hardened mineral. Lume? Well, not too bad. It'll suffice. Ordered mine via Massdrop. Got an outstanding deal! This is my second Spinnaker. I also have the Marina (blue case/blue strap) in my collection. All-n-all, happy with the purchase & would recommend.
