I have this knife with carbon fiber scales - it's an excellent knife and I have never regretted buying it.
One thing that never gets mentioned in the Chaparrel's description is its pocket clip. The design of the clip and how it is connected to the handle allow it to ride quite a bit lower in a pocket than most of Spyderco's other pocket clips. It also can be repositioned for either point-up or point-down carry and for either left or right handed carry.

zyxwvutsrI used to hate the wire clips but now I think they are the best.  besides what you mentioned they just work very well
