I appreciate Spyderco and Massdrop taking the time to reconsider the asking price of this knife. I think the compromise you guys came up with is definitely a "fair" price for this knife. Unfortunately for myself and others we come specifically to Massdrop to get a "deal" or "great price" on something. I feel if this knife were sold retail elsewhere it would be $169. So a "deal" would still be $150, and a "great price" would be anything below that. For anyone staying in this drop I definitely think you're getting a unique "collectable" knife at a "fair" price, not for me though, I'm still waiting on or looking for the next "deal".

DctjrMassdrop normally is about getting a deal. Here, however, massdrop is contracting with Spyderco to make an exclusive and unique knife (like other online retail stores have done). This exclusive isn't available anywhere else, and wouldn't be available except through massdrop, so I think this drop is less about getting a great deal, and more about getting a cool exclusive G10 Delica that isn't available anywhere else.

I clicked on interested before the drop happened, got an email once the drop happened, saw the price and moved on. I never got an email about the price drop. I just happened to be browsing and saw that it was still short of fulfillment, so I came to the discussion board to see what everyone was saying, and THEN noticed that the price had dropped. I think everyone was so out off by the initial price, they haven't gave this another look. That was the case with me, anyway.

NTexRobYeah me too, that's where I'm on the fence with this one. I was definitely in at $150 and I do like the knife. I'm probably gonna end up caving and joining the drop, it really is only twenty bucks more than I wanted to spend. Best thing they did was drop it away from $200, I wasn't even thinking of being a player at that price! LoL

Now that they've figured out the blade treatment, I suspect it will show up on other "collectibles" in the future...but this one will always be remembered as where it originated.

DctjrI bet we see this same blade on another Delica sprint this year, just saying. The "Scratch" pattern will be showing up on other Spydies in 2017 too.
