With a handle nearly large enough to grasp with two hands, the Spyderco Szabo is no dainty pocket knife. That’s because Laci Szabo is no dainty designer. A law enforcement officer, veteran, and martial artist, he’s known for creating knives for both utility and personal defense. And this collaboration with Spyderco fits the bill.
Note: Due to additional scrutiny and increased seizures at Customs this drop will be limited to members within the US. This drop is limited to 20 knives.
The first thing you’ll notice upon opening the knife is its scimitar-style blade. Made of CPM S30V steel, the black blade features an unsharpened swedge and a partial-hollow grind, plus Spyderco’s trademark hole for right- and left-handed opening. Meanwhile, the curve of the blade edge offers excellent cutting power.
Boasting stainless steel liners, plus carbon fiber and G-10 scales, the handle is nothing short of hardy. At 5.65 inches long, it provides plenty of room for large hands and those who want to choke up. And because the blade is 4.6 inches long, Spyderco has fitted the knife with its proprietary Compression Lock, which is composed of a split-leaf spring in one of the liners that acts as a wedge, making it nearly impossible to disengage when the blade is open.
