This is a great game but don't think of the game Risk when you buy this game. It's not like the classic Risk game at all but is totally fun in it's own unique way. The pieces are detailed and well made. This should be in any Star Wars fan's collection and those that like strategy (with the luck of the dice coming into to play too). My kids and I have replayed this game dozens of times and still find it fun. It's a good 20-30 minutes of good game play each time. Learning how to play the game was pretty straight forward too. I hope you enjoy this as much as we have!

Got this back on Dec28th when it was down at $23, and its a great purchase at that price. $30 is probably also OK the game itself, I played with a friend, it was VERY fun, and every single battle came down to the wire! Luke and Vader went the distance, my Troopers held the ShieldGen JUST long enough, and at the very end, as if the Force itself was guiding it all, one band of 2 Xwings survived and my Death Star gunners couldn't hit them, allowing the Rebels to blow it up and win the game really cool game with some sweet minis - the ONLY downside is that my Star Destroyer mini came a bit limp/bent at the tip, but the game itself is packaged/boxed/secured beautifully, and it makes a GREAT gift for any Star Wars fan :) Afterwards, I thought about the RISK-elements of it, and there really are a good amount, even though they are a bit altered. You can still play cards to deploy/gain/move/attack with troops, and certain others give instant boosts, as does clearing out all enemies in an area like in RISK. Very cool game, definitely recommend it! :)

Fun, quick, 2-person game. Not as much strategy as traditional Risk as its all based on what cards you draw. The only area where 'strategy' really comes into play is ship generation and movement. The battles for Endor and in the Throne Room are a novel concept that help you from getting bogged down in troop movement and attacking (the backbone of traditional Risk) and help keep the game moving.
Play is slightly skewed towards the Rebels, but overall it's a great quick play. Got it for $22, would have probably paid up to $30 for it.
My box DID come slightly damaged from shipping, which sucks since alot of the appeal of the "Black Series" is the packaging. Also, the Millenium Falcon, Death Star, and Destroyer are cheap plastic rather than metal. My destroyer actually has a bent 'nose' :(

IS_MY_US"My destroyer actually has a bent 'nose' :(" -- I had the same issue, seems like "flaccid" Star Destroyers are a common issue here.

The game moves a lot quicker than expected from those with the RISK name, but that's a good thing here. The quick back and forth of the game keeps it light and enjoyable, so I'm not even mad when I get beat. Game is well balanced, with results often being really tight and reasonably well produced (though I wish the Star Destroyer and Millennium Falcon mini's were hard plastic so they didn't warp and bend). This is one of my favourite games to play though, so definitely 5 stars from me.

Great quality, fun twist on game
I mean it is Star Wars. Great to see quality build vs. most mass produced board games. May not be everyone's cup of blue milk - but definitely recommend it if you like games and Star Wars.

It's Risk and Star Wars, what's not to like
The pieces and boards look amazing, game play is good if your in the Rebels' side, a little less if you're the Imperial

Love it
Excellent presentation, very well made components in an efficient storage. The Rebels and Imperials play very differently. Very fun game, not like traditional Risk at all, other than the dice roll to attack. It is great for two or more players. Full of fun planing attacks with your family or friends.

Game is very well made pieces look great. Game play was fun but not Risk at all. Not a balanced game play experience, Rebels win often. The only reason I give it a 4 is the game play is a little contrived and the Rebels are almost always the winner. For someone into the pieces almost as much as the game I would say this is worth it at 25 - 35 bucks. Though I can't see me replaying this too often.

My nephew and I very much enjoy this game. It's a 1v1, it's quick, it's fun. Games are usually 30-45 minutes if you think too much, but once we got it down were about 25-30 mins. The real issue I have with it is that it's not really balanced well for new players. Rebels generally wipe the board with the Empire, unless the Empire does one particular tactic. This is fine, now that we've played thru it 3 times, though. My nephew (11yo) loved it.
