Like Aaaarooon, I am also curious as to where this one's sourced. Japan: I'll buy it, no questions asked. China: hell no.

the concern of wood choice/sourcing would be better directed toward Takamine/ESP guitars as a company rather than "China." Corporate is going to get the final say in what factories get what wood from certain lumber companies, and it'd be just as likely to see unethical sourcing in an American/Japanese company (ex. Gibson's exotic wood scandal) as you would in a Chinese company.

Is this model in particular manufactured in Japan?

So a couple questions. 1.) Has anyone had good experience with this company? a.) Do they have good tone? b.) Do they have good electronics 2.) Im assuming that B-Stock means that these arent "perfect models" a.) How big are the defects? b.) How many can we expect to see on an average guitar?

Just to clarify, sitka spruce is not a 'bright' tonewood. its chacteristic is deep and warm. Further, maturation of a guitars tone in fact comes from the use of nitro-cellulose lacquers which you find in higher end models but unfortunately not in this one.

benmay91http://www.takamine.com/wood Takamine's website describes the tone as bright and clear. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that the folks at Takamine know a bit more than you or I do about the tonal characteristics of wood. as for the finish... the general consensus among the acoustic community is that finish is a negligible part of tone. pop into any acoustic forum or talk to any serious player/craftsman and they'll tell you that the top is the biggest factor in tone production. you can also see that in other string instruments like violins and violas.

krugerjThe description mentions right handed and no mention of left, so I assume it's just right.
