Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Headphone output: Maximum output: 100mW + 100mW (32 ohms with load, distortion rate 0.1%) Compatibility impedance: 8 ohms to 600 ohms
There isn't anything beyond that in the owners manual either. I'd be VERY surprised if a pair of 600 ohm headphones connected to the UD-301 would produce much in the way of useful volume at all. My AKG K712 Pro cans, at only 62 ohms, on some prerecorded content leaves something to be desired. If you can't find the answer from anyone here, contact TEAC directly and ask them. They're reasonably responsive to questions I've asked them.
One other noteworthy (or maybe not) thing to mention is that TEAC's HR AUDIO PLAYER software isn't supported on Windows Server 2012 R2, or any other version of Windows Server. I contacted TEAC about that and the response I got was that they only support the operating systems listed on the HD AUDIO PLAYER webpage.
I have my studio computer configured in 'dual-boot' mode and I can boot into two different SSD's, both running Windows Server 2012 R2. When I want to JUST listen to music, I boot into the playback only instance, which is also running Audiophile Optimizer and Fidelizer Pro. For playback only (just listening to music), I generally use Infinity Blade (Bughead), which I perefer, or JPlay or JRiver. Since I've never been able to install the TEAC player, I have no idea if it's any good or not.
When I want to do studio work, I boot into the other instance of Windows Server 2012 R2, which runs Avid Pro Tools and a bunch of other pro audio related software. While I'm not crazy about switching back and forth, I don't do that very often, so it's not a big deal.
