Product Description
A new kind of fidget toy, the Orbiter from TEC Accessories features three parts: a neodymium magnet sandwiched between 6AL4V titanium end caps and a chrome steel ball. Thanks to the center disc, which is made from a neodymium magnet, the steel ball magnetically circles its outer edges, like a moon orbiting a planet Read More

if you get one of these things, make sure they're the real deal first. Got a cheap one online and there was a dent in the side of the main piece, meaning the bearing will never spin smoothly (it just flies off when it gets to the dent).
TheWolfThese are the real deal. They are coming straight from us, the manufacturer. We own the copyright to the name "Orbiter", anyone else either calls it something else or if they do call it an Orbiter, we go after them for copyright infringement whenever possible.
For those of you that are comparing these to versions made in China, let me try to put this to bed: if you are looking for support on a "knock off" spinner costing less, one good reason to buy from a company like Tec is that they are responsive. I've been buying products from them for years as have many of you, and their support is excellent! I had a clip come off a key chain hook, they replied within a couple of hours and are sending a replacement. That is not to say that there are only great spinner companies in the US, I personally love the FEGV spinners also, but knowing Tec has your back is always nice.
Has anyone received their Orbiters yet? I’m eager to see what the Raspberry Blue & Alien Green Orbiters look like. Are they similar to the MassDrop images?
Thanks.
Oh, I would never use that word! I’d just say you're the sensitive type, and there’s no reason you shouldn’t be proud about tha! After all,
"You’re good enough, you’re smart enough, and doggone it, people like you!”
ben125125Sorry, not the same thing. Cheap Chinese knock-off. What is the material (rode gold "colored")? If it is anything like the typical low quality pot metal that all the clones are made of, the material gets magnetized and has a direct impact on the balls ability to rotate correctly which results in high friction and jerky ball action. That, and a rough magnet surface makes it pretty much useless.
But I have no problem if you want to spend the 12 bucko's!
My order just came in today and it seemed to be opened already. Had some fingerprints on the spinner and balls. Also did not recieve any carrying case. Other than that, its a very unique spinner unlike the other basic fidget toys.
EricsDongSorry for the late reply, I just saw your comment. My apologies regarding the fingerprints, it could have been from the assembly. The boxes simply slide open, so it is possible someone at the fulfillment house checked it out but I doubt it. Also as an FYI, the small carry bag that used to come with these was eliminated when they were repackaged. But we include an extra steel ball as a result. Apparently Massdrop has not updated the description on the drop page
I have to say I got one of these last year and was super disappointed when I lost it about four months later in a theater. Fucking great to play around with during meetings. Quality product, quality design. 10/10 bought again.
TMOHIt wasn't an Orbiter. We own the trademarked name, what you bought was a cheap clone. I don't mind that you bought a clone, but I just want to be clear as to what you actually bought.
