In for a pair of e5's and want to know if some comply tips would make any difference. If so, what size? Can’t get much help from the Comply site as the tfz brand doesn’t show.
Thanks
oldnoobTfz brand does show but only series 1 and series 5. A comment below states the t500 isolation tips fit and work well. Included Tfz tips are not great for me so I'll be ordering these.
Loving my exclusive 5, really excited for the king pro.... Hoping we get a drop for that soon, but the exclusive 5 is well worth it.
Erak606the ones that came with the iems were a lot worse than the complys in my experience. they aren't very pliable and theyre a hard time to get into my ears and the seal still isn't great. they sound great with the complys
oldnoobI measure the nozzle diameter as 5.0-5.5 mm for the E5, the series 5 is slightly smaller, maybe 5.0-5.2mm, the t500 should hypothetically fit then, although it might be tighter (not a bad thing).
Annoying that comply doesn't list what size nozzle their products fit, only specific models. I ended up ordering some knockoff comply tips that have a wider range of what they fit. Hopefully they fit the king pros as well.... They're all somewhat flexible, so as long as you don't miss by too much, should be ok. Size of the included nozzles looks the same for e5/s5 when I compare/measure, opening itself is about 5mm. As an fyi though, tighter may be better, I was having the s5 iem pull out of the tip, leaving the tip lodged in my ear canal. Went to two meetings with it lodged in my ear on two separate occasions....
SciHoboStuck in your ear! What a nightmare.
On a different question; will different style, size and material effect the sound of the music? I tried the T500 with the beats II and they sound a bit muffled. Just a bit though.
Also doe the 500 in T500 represent 5mm?
oldnoobYeah, they will, generally the more dense the foam the more it will isolate, increase/trap bass and cut/absorb highs. Also, just because they isolate better, they will seem louder at lower volumes (a very good thing if you listen too loud like me) which can make you hear them more naturally.
Personally I find the difference to be pretty subtle if you get a good seal with whatever tip your using, and with memory foam I usually try to get as large of tips as I can get in my ear with out blocking the opening.
I am not sure if the 500 stands for mm, especially since 200 being 2mm would definitely not fit on e5s as reported. Some of the knockoff brands do copy that 500 number and are, in fact, geared towards 5mm tips so.... Maybe?. I believe the actual opening on the top may be 4.5 mm on generic (znari t500).
