Make sure you spend the extra dollars on a CellinkB battery backup. The battery will feed the dash camera when the ignition is ON (continuous mode) and OFF (parking mode) and it should only charge when the ignition is ON. Save your main battery from harm.
OneLoveThis is a nice suggestion but not really a cheap one, CeelinkB costs almost as much as the camera, if this camera doesn't have voltage detection then it's not really worth the asking price
All the newer Lukas/Qvia cameras have this feature out of the box, and it is configurable
cobrafI don't think you understand the purpose of the CellinkB. The F770 camera also has power management built in however, the CellinkB battery backup is used to completely remove the burden off your car battery. I am sorry my suggestion doesn't fit your personal budget. :)
OneLoveI completely understand, cellink is a niche product for someone who wants to do parking recording and not be limited by the car battery, its really expensive and completely not needed unless you really need it.
Car battery is just that a battery and it does what it's supposed to do, if there is power management in the camera then there should be absolutely no burden on the battery
cobrafThe point of the Cellink is that it will provide you with much more power in parking-mode recording. Your regular vehicle battery will give about 6~ hours of recording for your dashcam while a Cellink extends that to 25~ hours!
cobrafIf it draws power it will place a "burden" on the battery. No power management can change that. Power management only cuts the cam off when volts gets below a set point. The backup battery completely removes that and last much longer.
