The TOPS Knives Backup fixed blade may not be your primary tool, but it makes a great secondary edge for those tasks where you don’t want to rough up your go-to—or for jobs that don’t call for the big guy. Made with a small-but-mighty 2.1-inch blade, this little full-tanger is made from 1095 carbon steel throughout. The drop-point shape of the blade lends itself to shaving wood, cutting rope, preparing food, or opening things. The oversized belly is surprisingly good for slicing, despite the knife’s small stature. To go with the Backup is a kydex sheath. Store it in a pocket, on a belt, or around your neck.
