The Trifoglio Italia Millimetro is, in a word, dynamic. A rotating dial watch with an automatic movement, it looks like a puzzle to crack open a vault of treasure Read More
NASA has a bigger budget for replacement crystals than I. I'll stick to glass or preferably (for daily wear watches at the very least) sapphire.
P.S.: Glass (at least regular silicate/soda-lime glass) crystals have been around for ages (they were the first type used for watches and other timepieces like clocks and chronometers), but mineral glass, which is tempered by heat and or chemical processes (and sometimes, like in the case of Seiko "Hardlex", borosilicate glass; e.g.: Dow Corning Pyrex, Schott Duran, et cetera) came much later as did sapphire crystal, which is genuine sapphire and was only feasible (both economically and as a result of optical clarity standards) after the ability to produce synthetic gemstones was perfected.
M.a.vI have a dozen vintage watches with acrylic that are over 40 years old and look beautiful. There are some minor scratches but scratches on acrylic look waaaayyyy better than scratches on sapphire. BTW while sapphire is obviously more scratch resistant than acrylic it's not scratch proof. I have few watches with sapphire crystals that I managed to scratch up and there is no easy way to buff that off. I also second Cloaca that the only Omega Moonwatch worth buying is the one with Hesalite (acrylic) crystal.
Rowdy2026That reminds me ,my pool timer is up the creek; maybe I could retrofit one of these watches!!! Probably a lot cheaper, last timer cost me $600 aud. fitted.
Bought this the last time (unless I missed it in-between, my order was December of '17) for $249, however it was the ML141SSVW with the Stainless Steel Case, Vintage White Dial, and Tan Leather Strap. I've never worn it. Likely never will. Actually, who wants it? It wears very small on the wrist as well.
Overall looks interesting and unique, and not unreasonably priced. What's put me off is the choice to put "60" instead of "00" on the minutes and seconds dial. Sounds pedantic and subjective, but that's the way I would have gone, faced with the choice between the two.
I like a direct-read watch as much as the next guy, but this one is not well executed. Too many lines and numbers to easily read time. You have to just stare at it a while to take a close guess. Reduce the minute wheel to 10 to 5 lines between numbers to reduce that confusion, and eliminate the bottom row of numbers with the hour wheel. Then a person could actually read this.
Why do the main photos look like a brass case?? But only options are Silver and rose gold? Is the black watch in the main photo shoot actually rose gold?
Also, on the Silver cases, the triangle is white, not orange/red? Just want to confirm. Thanks.
SpetedHoleslooks like for the stainless colored cases, the central dot's always white.
also, here's a vid from the trifoglio website of the rose gold color, and it looks much more like the color in the actual photos and not the photoshop-assembled options pictures

I was very excited when my watch was delivered, unfortunately it wasn't quite the watch shown in the description. Instead of a thin gray outline indicating the time at the top of the dial, there is a bright red line underneath a tall raised magnifying crystal. Also, the Trifoglio logo in the middle is off-center to the lower-right.
ACookManIt's still a fun, whimsical watch that gets compliments, I just prefer not to have a magnifier. I've since replaced the strap with a softer brown leather one that was on Massdrop a while back, making it more unique :)
