I've got the universal version for sale if anyone is interested. Maybe 15 hours on them. They're basically new, complete with all unused accessories & bluetooth cable, for a discount.
what was the price from the last drop guys? I missed it last time. I have a code from UE that could bring down to $1300. I do not know if it is more expensive or cheaper than Massdrop.
King8888
Sorry to bother you, but how did you got the code?, I was waiting for this drop to come alive again but nothing is happening and I might pull the trigger now. Thank you.
Got my pair today, but the container doesn't have my name on. It just says "handcrafted for: Ultimate Ears 18+ pro". How can I ask UE to send me a new container with my name on?
get my pair today without any notice

i walked into their office the day aftwr drop ended
My ear impression is delivered on 10/06/2018. Today I receive the email -- It has been brought to our attention that your ear impressions have not yet been received by Ultimate Ears. In order to move forward with your order, we must confirm that these have been sent.
What is going on ?
I have shipped my impressions. Should I provide the tracking information to someone? Will I get notified if the impressions get received?

wait what? you are getting the iem already?
darn, I went to UE literally the day after drop ended and received no info so far.
Innosint
Yea, I received it!!!
is the order submitted to UE yet?
If yes, I may be able to swing by UE to get my impression taken sometime this week.
Some communication after drop completed would be nice.....
Yeah, we need instruction, like do we open our mouth or close our mouth when we do the ear impressio, and where do we ship the ear impression, and specific order number to let UE know the model and color of earphone match to the impression
Need the instruction of ear impression and the shipping address, also deadline of the ear impression receiving.
When will the instruction of ear impression online. There is neither any instruction about the impression nor the address the impressions should be mailed to.
Also what is the address?
I join the drop, but If i change my mind on the color, can I still change it?
Do we have to pay tax?
The new cable system looks really aesthetic, though the original protruding design looked equally sexy as well.
Any one know if UE takes custom art through mass drop?
Innosint
Sorry, I don't think you can get custom art from this drop.
Tempting. Clearly these are a big step up (or they better be)., but how does the sound signature compare to Shure IEMs? Namely the SE535.
mrvco
Quite a lot better. The 3rd gen is technically quite proficient but if you want the best timbre I still suggest going for the 2nd gen ones (Was in MD a few months ago)
The soundsig is warm, leaning on neutral just like Shure but these carries quite a bit more treble and perhaps sounds quite sweeter than the 535.
Under a dilemma. Should I sell my 6 month old universal UE 18+ and buy this as I prefer customs or should I just keep my universal and be happy with it?

Do you like/love these enough that you'd never want to sell them? If yes, then go for the CIEM. I purchased mine a few months back, but haven't listened to them enough to decide if I want to go custom. I'm confident/hoping that this will not be the only drop for these.
As for the re-shelling option, there are companies who can do great re-shells, but I'd rather get my customs direct from the manufacturer, without having to worry that they've been tuned properly, etc. It's not necessarily just a matter of tossing the internals into a new shell. You may need to factor in nozzle length, bore size, etc. all of which the original manufacturer has already considered. I would only go with a second-party re-shell if the original manufacturer does not offer re-shells (sadly more companies are doing this), but in this case you can just sell the universals and go for the custom.
rantng
They sound different though, might not be the wisest to expect the same thing when ordering the customs
Also, 3rd gen frankly sounds more neutral, but lost its edge in terms of timbral sweetness and accuracy. It's got more treble to make you feel as if there's more detail but it's not really better than the predecessor
How do these compare to Noble Kaiser 10 Universal IEMs bu MD? Any ideas?
Ok, so I have purchased a set of these, anyone know if I am supposed to do anything now? Or do I wait until the drop happens?

Description:
”Custom in-ear monitors are like custom suits. They need to be tailored to your body. So as part of the ordering process, you'll need to visit an audiologist for ear impressions. Then, you’ll need to mail those impressions to the Ultimate Ears lab (address will be provided). The vendor must receive tracking info on the impressions within 3 weeks of the drop completing, or the offer will be canceled and refundedno exceptions or extensions.”
I planed to get one if it will be a discount for thanksgivin. But now it even cheaper. Thx mass drop I can get a pair much earlierLOL
Is this a good entry level IEM? How would you rank this compared to beatss by dre wireless earbuds?

Thank you for making my life wonderful.
Chicoka
These are anything but entry level. There is no comparison possible between fashion brand toys (dre[ck], skull candy, and the usual brands you're likely to find at your favorite apple or cellular store) and in-ear monitors (UE, Harvey, Etymotic, etc.). If you hear no difference between $30 earphones and $100+ ones, these are definitely not something you would appreciate. I've no idea of what the price was for this drop, but I paid about $1000 for a pair of UE-10's in 2005 and they were definitely worth that money. alex
Can we order 2 different colors. Blue for left and red for right
Is it possible to order this as a universal?
naveb1121
Unfortunately No. You gotta have the ear impression & it‘s personalized only.
Does anybody have experience between these and CA Andros in terms of sonic qualities? Also, is it an upgrade or more of a side-grade?
Deicide
I own the universal version of the UE18 and CA andromedas so the best way to describe it is a bit of a side grade as you trade some of the highs clarity for better bass and lower midrange response, but this is a good price for the UE18s I feel. Either which way I like both of them. So it’s really just a personal preference of sound signature as they both do different things pretty well.
Hol598
When I listened to the Andromedas, I felt that the sound was literally coming from within my head. The soundstage was so strange. I don't know if you get the same feeling or not.
What would the process be if UE already had your impressions on file?
ClashCube
I would like to know this too. Have a appointment to have a 3d scan at a dealer in a couple of days
So, David Gutierrez still works in UE. He was the guy responsible for my UE 11 Pro order and the mess with IEMs arriving with wrong faceplates, sigh... I hope you guys get your earphones exactly as ordered ;)
I own UE 11 Pro and I like the bass response very much, more than on JH Audio Roxanne customs which I also own. I believe UE18 should be better than UE11, so it's definitely worth grabbing at this price point.

Well at least UE did better than this.
So recently I had the chance to listen to universal demos of UERR (reference remastered), 18+, and Live. I thought my observations might help those wondering how they all compare.
First caveat, these were universal demos, which only approximate the sound as they only go so far into the ear. Anatomically I have very thin ear canals, and a tight curve.
First, want to acknowledge the entire team I talked with at UE, the folks really knew about, and are passionate about the product. Seriously, these folks are truly awesome.
I did my listening with my own Mac laptop, music, Audirvana Plus, a LHLabs micro usb cable, and Chord Mojo.
I’ll post a link to a more extended write up, as soon as I can, but wanted to share this now.
I did a fair bit of comparison between models. Each has a signature, however I did not hear any major colorations. In comparing all, I felt the 18+ really was the gem of the current lineup - a nice spot between price and sound, and in some ways I even liked it better than the Live. The 18+ had the cleanest most fun sound, really fantastic tuneful deep bass, and was my favorite. Treble was extended and smooth, and the mids were very nicely presented, I thought. The UERR is every bit a reference monitor, it simply did not have enough bass for me with a wide range of music, and I felt the lower treble was a little bit flat. If I was mixing all day though, it would be for sure my choice, it was very easy to hear into the recording, and had great instrument placement. The Live was very good, perhaps a bit more defined in the lower mid bass, and more raw/direct in the mids, if ever so slightly. I could however hear the dynamic driver in the Live, it was very musical sounding with a clear midbass especially. Overall, the 18+ is really an amazing headphone, as are the folks that make it.
As as I compile my listening notes (on my computer as opposed to my phone, which I’m on now) I’ll certainly post more extended thoughts about how each sounded in comparison.
Incidentally wanted to add, I am not a pro reviewer. I joined the drop with my own hard earned $, and in no way associated with a dealer or UE.

There was actually a 18+ second gen, which I briefly listened to sitting at the display. I think you are spot on with the v2,- the version 3 (same drivers as live, minus the hybrid) was much better in the midrange, and had more definition in the bass. Keeping in mind these are all universals, so i'd assume CIEMS would be even better, but at all were on a level field as all were universals with the same exact tips.

Re: driver counts, the 18+ only has 6 total drivers (4 normal and 2 that they label as "true tone") and the Live has 7 drivers plus the dynamic for 8 total. You're probably right though that the Live has all the same drivers as the 18+, just with the extra BA and dynamic ones.
I wanted to select one ear piece in one colour and a different one in the other. This isn't possible at Checkout. Any way to make this happen?
Guessing ue has a new model planned

This is the new model
FrostyP
Serious? I thought this came out like in 2016 Ah well I have the 18 should I get this?
I'm confused by the driver count. In one paragraph is says 6BA drivers plus 2True Tone drivers, but in the specs it states only 6BA drivers. Unfortunately, UE's website is not. much help either, with no information on the "True Tone" drivers.

6 drivers per ear that is "divided" into four frequency bands, plus two True Tone drivers dedicated to the high frequency band.
So it makes up 6 drivers.
I've one of these (The universal fit model that I got here on Massdrop a few months ago) and they sound so good. Custom fit would even be appealing to me personally. But already have the universal fit.
Boyce89976
The UE18 contains 6 drivers per side, two of which are the true tone drivers.
