If there’s two main complaints we hear from most flask owners, it’s that their vessel corrupts the taste and they can never find a funnel to fill it up properly. Addressing both issues with superior construction, the Vargo Titanium Funnel Flask gives you a tasteless and highly durable titanium body with a silicone funnel that stays securely on top Read More

I remember reading here someone suggesting magnets as a way to get around the fact that the lid can get lost. I glued on these 15mmx1mm magnets with super glue to both the lid and the flask itself. Seems to be a good solution. The magnets hold together, but are very easy to pull apart. No struggle. Getting 2 magnets away from the other magnets that you will no doubt have to buy on the other hand cannot be described with the same word. Some might shatter. You're best bet is to get a pair of them separated and glue one side to the lid. Wait 15 min. For it to dry and glue the other side with the lid still attached to the other magnet. You will be able to easily separate each side once the second magnet is set. The bottom right photo shows what this looks like.
VajtagalI'm not very sure what compels you to believe that anyone is asking or forcing you to add magnets at all, but if 2 grams seems to be a deal breaker and "heavy" in your book maybe you should look into getting a drop for a set of dumbbells. Good luck with the cap, luckily for you Vargo does allow you to buy a replacement.
idklelThanks Captain Obvious, I read that, hence; "I image it would look pretty silly without it."
A 20mm neck sticking out all by itself is even worse.
Got this during the last drop. Have had it for a month. Have put whiskey, vodka, and rum of various qualities in it. Does great. The rum actually was in it for over a week (long story, very embarrassing) and after a few brave testing sips, I was able to palate the whole thing. A good rinse with water cleans it out very well, with no leftover flavors from the previous drink. The silicone neck, when on, looks a little goofy but is forgivable. Without it, the aesthetics are fine. It may look a bit "off" if you hold up a few other flasks next to it, but personally I feel like the utility far far far far outweighs the minor aesthetic hit. The flask is also very durable. I mean, I haven't shot it or anything, but it has survived drops and throws and falls and stuff falling onto it without dents and scratches. My only complaint is that it is more difficult than expected to remove the silicone neck for cleaning. Like a chinese finger trap game.
ApocalypseSteelI just put my name down for it based on this review, I have been looking for a good flask for a while and this fits the bill perfectly, a tad expensive but utility seems perfect for me.
AshesOfGravityI think the way you phrased it is unnecessarily suggesting that anyone interested in a flask is an alcoholic. Just remember, no matter how many people you know who can't handle their shit, doesn't make everyone who enjoys a flask incapable of handling their intoxicants too. Drinking is a perfectly fine activity, and the vast majority of people who drink do so responsibly.
AshesOfGravityJoke or no? Guarantee you an alcoholic wouldn't dare spend $$ on this flask in lieu of more cheap bourbon. Agreed that the suggestion that we're all alcoholics for being interested in a flask to be filled with alcohol is just silly. True, alcoholism is very serious, and those with an issue should seek help, and those of us without issues should be careful with those we drink with to ensure that we don't enable a problem. But, there's a time and place for legit alcohol consumption, and its just that sometimes a portable flask is needed to meet at that juncture.
They are still having troubles with quality control... Mine has a spot in the weld in the top of the flask instead of the bottom. I guess it's still a real gamble with getting these flasks so take that in mind next time it drops.
ZeniThe replacement has already been delivered to my house, and the flask is A-OK! The support at Vargo was incredibly speedy and I can reccomend them with full confidence.
JJTrueYou could always buy two, and run one for bourbon, the other for a dark rum :D
But yeah, doubling the size defeats the purpose of a flask's portability and minimal pocket space. If you need more room, go with a 1-liter bladder like what you'd use in a camping backpack LMFAO
Interesting one.
For how long do you recommend storing Scotch in this flask? Last (cheap) flask I had, I poured a glass after three-four weeks in, and the liquid was gray.
Imagine if this had a magnetic cap, and the body of the bottle had a small steel portion. You could stick the cap to the flattop of the body after unscrewing, to avoid losing it in use.
Could be also achieved with those slim, round button neodymium magnets.
Hidden "Easter Egg" feature: in a pinch, the funnel also allows the flask to be used as an impromptu female urinal (should your favorite sporting event end up in overtime).
Ha--try and get that image out of your mind!
