I don't have a problem with this product, but is a metal straw really a "bellows?"

KCrobbleIt's a lot more effective and comfortable than putting your face near the ground and trying to blow on the coals. I have a larger one that I've been using for many years. This one looks much easier to carry around.

CrabMcNastyI have no doubts this does everything it says and will help light and re-light fires.
I just think of bellows as having moving parts. In the scenario here, your *lungs* seem like the bellows and this tube merely an extension of your mouth. I am probably wrong. The word usage just struck me.

KCrobbleNope, it isn't. It's just a metal telescoping straw similar to a radio antenna, optimized for it's use. It doesn't create any air flow on it's own so you're right, it's not a bellows. However, for micro-fires (ie starting off tinder and kindling) this could be really effective in helping you place just the right amount of air in just the right place without worry about blowing everything all over the place. I haven't seen one in use but as I practice firebuilding from scratch I suspect this could be really helpful, even if it technically is the "nozzle" and the user is the bellow.

Look at me. Look at me, I'm the bellows now.

alysdexiaYou could also walk to the grocery store but it's easier to bring everything home if you drive.

CrabMcNastynowhere alike; what I mean is that you make a pipe shape with your hands, not carve out a pipe by hand.
