My 'A' key just started entering multiple a's on short presses. Anything I can do about this? Or do I have to deal with Massdrops not so excellent customer support?

Alex00322That's called keychatter and believe me it will only get worse. I started with chatter on the 'e' key on my va68m. It's now on about 10 keys and multiple presses on every press. I got mine elsewhere and found out later I didn't get a warranty, so it's in my work pile to desolder all the leds and switches and fix it myself. Go with massdrop replacement now if you can.

epsilon748I'm still waiting on a reply from Massdrop. They usually take a few days to reply. Hopefully I'll hear from them soon!

Alex00322I am having the same thing, filed a customer support ticket and am wondering how they're gonna deal with it. I bought this board the last time it dropped back in August and for 240 CAD$, I could've bought a cheap topre board for that.

Dylaan96KGood luck, apparently the keyboard doesn't come with a warranty and we're outside of the 30 day return policy. Seems like the chatter issue has been happening with a few from this last batch. Pretty discouraging.

Alex00322All I know is that this is the last time I'm buying a Varmilo, idgaf if they become the next best brand on the market. They should start putting their boards in thin plastic cases and use ABS on their keycaps so their quality actually reflects what they're selling. But alas, no point getting upset now I guess.

Dylaan96KYeah, it's extremely disappointing. They use very low quality PCB's from what I've read.

Alex00322Happened to mine, first the letter T, then space bar and enter key. Now the damn thing doesn't seem to power on any more. Pretty disappointed.

Alex00322I had key chattering with my VA68m (mounted with Cherry MX Green) from june 2016 batch. It was doubling or tripling each U. I used a bomb of an anti-corrosion, degreaser and lubricant product similar as WD-40 and it works fine since.

MoebiuSThankfully Massdrop took mine back. So I'll never have to deal with it again.

MoebiuSYeah my keyboard has started exhibiting this behavior too. I got it in the December 2016 drop. Double or triple U on many presses. They are all generated on the downward press. Now it's also affecting E frequently and some other keys too. It's a shame since I love the feel of the keyboard for both programming and gaming, but clearly something is defective.

runtimelogicThat's too bad. I wish more people knew about this before buying this keyboard. For it to be happening to this many people it can't be a small issue.

Alex00322Looks like Massdrop is going to take mine back as well, so at least they are handing it well. It's too bad there are quality problems with the board, because otherwise I love the look and feel of this keyboard. But yeah, it kind of has to function too. :-)
I've ordered a WASD V2 TKL as a replacement with a custom keycap set. Hopefully I don't miss feel of the PBT too much.

runtimelogicThat's great news. It makes me happy when I hear about Massdrop taking care of its customers. If you really like the look and feel I recommend going with a kit from Clueboard. I just received and built mine last week. It's everything the VA68M is but with better quality in terms of case / pcb / stabs. Plus you can get RGB underlight if you want.

Alex00322Same thing with mine, got it with the June 2016 drop. Since the keychatter started off slowly, I didn't realize it was even a problem at first-- or that it might get worse. Now it's almost unusable. I only wish I'd have reached out sooner, Massdrop support told me it's been too long and they can't help me.
