What is SpaceFN and why you should give it a try
The SpaceFN concept - setting up your space key as a layer switch when held - is probably one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby. Let me explain how it works. My SpaceFN article on kbd.news made some rounds recently - quite surprisingly given the age of this concept. This piece you're reading is a condensed version of the full post. If you're left with unanswered questions, you'll most likely find the info you're looking for in the original write-up. On my imaginary top list of the most useful keyboard features, tweaks and hacks, SpaceFN would deserve a podium finish for sure. But what makes it so special? In short: SpaceFN is easy to implement, easy to learn, costs nothing, can be used with any keyboard, and can improve your productivity instantly. I will list its benefits below, but can state right at this point that the SpaceFN concept, setting up your space key as a layer switch when held, is clearly one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby....

- Running Windows 10 Pro - Plugable USB bluetooth 4.0 (Amazon) - 1 week use
What will you expect issues?
- There will be cases where your keyboard will disconnect or lose signal when using the keyboard. I believe it more frequent for me when I use Plugable (1-3 times a day) or keyboard itself (I will need to test with other adapters). As for other devices that have bluetooth already built in like Smartphone, iPod, iPad, or laptop. They work fine, but don't quote me yet because I use them only a short period of time.
- When lost signal, expect continuous key spam of last entry instead of just stopping.
- When lost signal, ranges immediate to forever to reconnect. Your mileage may vary.
- Latency - varies depending on your signal or adapter but mostly negligible.
- Depending on your type of issues, you will have to play around when you keyboard/computer is partially recognizing. +Easiest way to troubleshoot is go to ---> Device Manager ---> Find Your Keyboard ---> Uninstall ---> Pair Again +Delete Bluetooth Profiles stored in your keyboard +Try other devices that support 4.0 Bluetooth to troubleshoot i.e. smartphone (modern) +Try other bluetooth adapters
Overall
- Build quality is good, what you expect.
- Easy to set up.
- For the most part contempt on the purchase. + Would be nice if keyboard can be used as wired option and not bluetooth all the time. + Dedicate LED for On/Off (cause the insert LED will eventually die out since it uses more frequent). + Battery Indicator
