Another question, is there anyway to force shutdown the keyboard? I gave up with it on my mac, using it exclusively for a single windows 10 machine, installed that HP driver recommended. Good, but still have random drop off.
Worst of all, when signal drop, the key I was pressing get jammed, and I need to reboot the computer just to be able to use it again. (my bluetooth mouse get disconnected with it when it happens)
Then after the reboot, the keyboard appears to have been bind to somewhere, not sure where. Long press insert key doesn't shut it down, Fn+del doesn't cut have any effect either.
Any lower level force shut trick?
Update: I think after a while it get bored and shut itself off. Then I started the keyboard (fn + insert) and delete all binding (fn + delete), after scroll lock flashed a few times, keyboard has non-flashing insert key, and back to the zombie state, can't turn it off, can't bind anything...
Any lower level reset firmware trick?
Update 2: might have found the trick, half an hour without any connection problem right now (was having problem every 3 minutes).
---- Turn off windows power management for bluetooth ----
Device manager -> bluetooth -> properties -> power management tab -> "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power" -> turn that s*cker off and it seems good till now.
*Note: also went to windows power management setting -> advanced power setting -> PCI power saving => off. Though I'm not sure if it matters for me.
Now... pray...
nicholasxuuonly way is insert for 4 seconds or more. that or wait like 10 mins without a connection for it to shut down on its own. I am somewhat bewildered at this point in time to the number of people that have problems from the day i got mine it has worked fine with both windows 10 at home and windows 7 at work. bluetooth dongle at work and internal card at home so i have hit both ends of the spectrum but it is baffling.
