What is SpaceFN and why you should give it a try
The SpaceFN concept - setting up your space key as a layer switch when held - is probably one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby. Let me explain how it works. My SpaceFN article on kbd.news made some rounds recently - quite surprisingly given the age of this concept. This piece you're reading is a condensed version of the full post. If you're left with unanswered questions, you'll most likely find the info you're looking for in the original write-up. On my imaginary top list of the most useful keyboard features, tweaks and hacks, SpaceFN would deserve a podium finish for sure. But what makes it so special? In short: SpaceFN is easy to implement, easy to learn, costs nothing, can be used with any keyboard, and can improve your productivity instantly. I will list its benefits below, but can state right at this point that the SpaceFN concept, setting up your space key as a layer switch when held, is clearly one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby....

I have the Plugable USB-BT4LE Bluetooth adapter using the Broadcom BCM20702 chipset and I tried installing the older drivers found on Lenovo's website (12.0.0.9050) as recommended by a previous post here (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/varmilo-vb87m-bluetooth/talk/329111) that supposedly resolved the issue... but it's not working for me. I also tried installing a fresh copy of Windows 10 on another computer that is not on the insider preview and could not get the keyboard to work properly there either. I've also tried installing the latest version of drivers direct from Broadcom to no avail. And lastly I tried the fix recommended on the VMB87 description page here to install the HP Broadcom drivers "12.0.1.695 Rev.A(27 Jul 2015)", again still broken.
Does anyone know of a current solution to resolve this issue? It seems several of us Varmilo users are hitting this issue.
I'd really like to continue using this board, but having to connect a USB keyboard just to log into Windows and then un-pair and re-pair the Varmilo every time isn't a viable solution.
Also going back to Windows 8.1 where I never had an issue is also not an option.
Thanks everyone!
