Whoa January 2nd? Just lost interest.
darwin
Thanks for pointing this out, was able to cancel in time. Geez
Is there a model that fits the Focal Elear/Elex/Clear ? It needs 2 x 3.5mm mono connectors at headphone’s end.
DenisF
you can order 2x3.5mm from their website's customizer https://www.veclan.com/engappliance_sel_one?eng_ApplianceVo.eac_id=16
Garbage Why would Massdrop keep selling such junk. The wire inside the cheap shoelace material is the thinnest you can buy anywhere. Refunds should be issued to all who have purchased.
Just as an FYI some HE4XX have 3.5mm connectors at the earcups... at least that's what I have...
zep483
Same with my HE4XX
some people say this is not good cable ! I need XLE cable to my HD6xx (HD650) can u please recommend for me a really good one ? Sennheiser XLR cable is too expensive $250 :(
$50 more for slighly longer wire? Pass.
Just FYI, I gave away (for free) my VECLAN cable. The sleeves for the HD6XX connectors rubbed against my clavicles so badly it was not worth it anymore.
And I don’t want to even start on the stupendous amount of microphonics this stupid thing generates. Absolutely ridiculous cables.
Just received this via a previous batch @ 59.99USD Got mine in a HD6XX Cable 1.8m - 4 Pin Balanced - configuration.
I was very excited as this is my very 1st custom sleeved/braided cables. Not knowing what to expect, I opened the package and was greeted with a mixed bag of feelings. (3 out of 5 stars is my verdict with my limited knowledge)
Aside from the obvious reasons of buying a cool looking custom braided cable, here is my Summary: - Connectors (2-pin to HD6XX headphone fit) are tighter than the originals - Connectors 2-pin gold points look to be less refined than the originals (lower quality?) - XLR connector appears slightly dull / less polished than I had hoped (lower quality?) - Left Cable is slightly longer than Right Cable (see pic compared - but given it is custom braided, can be forgiven) - Y point is just a shrink plastic material, could maybe do something better there... - Braiding seems more loosely threaded than originally seen in the product photos. (maybe it is a change of material used? or maybe just less workmanship time spent here to meet supply demand?) Nevertheless I still appreciate workmanship and whoever made it has my thanks.
Overall, it is an OK product, maybe I had too high expectations for it to be of high quality product... BUT it is usable and checks off its most basic functionality and for looking Cool =)

I have an hd800 to 2.5mm cable from VE that I don't use if anyone would like to buy it let me know
theplaidmoose
How long and how much are you planning to sell
Mattttt
60 plus shipping, I think its 5 ft not sure im on travel and will have to check. Ive only used it a few times. Its a dark blue and gray though.
Can I use it with my HD 660s?
Received the HD6XX version. Tried to pair with HD580 and TH610, the connectors seem to be of different shape from the originals? Very tight, and I'm worried the connectors might break the headphone socket after a few more plug and pull. P.S. anyone knows where a female 4 pin XLR to male quarter inch adapted can be purchased?
Yue2016md
Hi pal, I'm just wondering did you get your female 4 pin XLR to 6.35mm jack adaptor cable? I only ask as I make cables and sell them privately and also on eBay so I can supply the cable to your spec if still required? My email address is danksebnzx4@gmail.com. If you need the cable let me know and I can workout a price for you. As for that venture cable I think it's a discrace, I wouldn't dare try to sell anything that looked that rough, I can supply a similar spec cable for not a lot more money, including shipping from the UK, and the build quality will be perfect!
Well they do work but they feel so cheap. Nothing to them. The material is attractive but you can feel the wire inside the nylon material is extremely thin. Not worth more than $20 if that. Very disappointed in Massdrop for offering such cheap cables at a price that was more than three times what they are actually worth.
If anyone's looking to sell his cable, I'm looking for a 1.8 meter XLR cable for my HD 650/6XX
Ziggity
Actually wanted to sell mine. Matching version as well. https://imgur.com/a/yIkK9UT Living in GER though.

Awesome. I'm sure we can work something out Send me an email zigi531@gmail.com
The hifiman balanced works with Emu-teak.

Interestingly my cable was sent quickly after the drop ended. I think it was only a week.
cjbowns
is the difference in sound noticeable with the e-mu?
The left side of my cable was like half an inch longer than the right. :/
@geargeeksp or anyone really, please confirm below for the HD6XX Cable 1.2m – 4 Pin Balanced ($49.99):
1. Is this the pin assignment for the 4-Pin XLR?
search
2. The symbols - or + on the Sennheiser connector should be facing outward? (just to make sure the PLUS and MINUS / phase is correct)

kokkat
Hi, yes mate, that is the standard pin out for a 4 pin balanced XLR, as for the cables connectors they will only fit one way as the positive pin is thinner than the negative one stopping them from being fitted incorrectly
Mavismodz
Thank you for the info @Mavismodz. However, I gave away (for free) my VECLAN cable. The sleeves for the Sennheiser connectors rubbed against my clavicles so badly it was not worth it anymore.
And I don’t want to even start on the stupendous amount of microphonics this stupid thing generates. Absolutely ridiculous cables.
Just a short review since I saw this is active again. I purchased this for a HD6xx and used it for months, but experienced an issue people should be aware of.
The headphone end adapters for the HD6xx are quite a bit longer than any other cable I have tried, so much so that it would poke into my shoulders almost all the time. Eventually this led to the cable being pinched/pulled and now the audio in one side will cut out as that happens. So if you are broad shouldered, maybe look elsewhere despite how cool the cable looks. I am currently using the stock Sennheiser HD650 cable myself with no poking, sure looks boring though.
I hope these are available again because I got the most important one which for me was the Ballanced cable however I would like the 1/4" if it is offered again
turbomustang84
I can make the cable for you, email me with the spec you want and I'll workout a price for you, I'm UK based but I ship cables all around the world so is not an issue, my email is danksebnzx4@gmail.com
I'm looking at these cables or the Fanmusic C6 cables, is there a difference I need to look out for?
noooo all the hd 6xx to 6.3 mm has sold out :(

what material do you use ? the venture models are braided cloth which is kimd of what Iam looking for
turbomustang84
Hi mate, I use either OCC copper or I have some mill spec silver plated copper, it has 30x 0.08mm strands inside of it and I can do 4 or 8 core in the same style as the venture cable using paracord sleeve, but the stuff I use is miles nicer quality, it's got a kind of silly shiny finish, the best thing to do is have a look on eBay, search mavismodz6 or search for this item number 232838958565, I have loads of different cables an things on there, that number is for an audeze braided cable but I can do the same style for the hd6xx, cheers
Model I want is sold out already. Good as I will look somewhere else as waiting 2 months just isn’t worth it.
riverside163
Ebay has some stateside sellers that can provide the same no frills cable connections in the same price bracket. They can actually be cheaper than Fanmusic and VE offerings on the longer lengths while being made from mainstream cable and connectors. Think of planets in our solar system when searching Ebay, not looking to shill for a seller on Massdrop's turf.
Will these work with hd660s?
Dnguyen926
Yes they will, pick the HD6xx option.
Damn, the 1,8 meter single ended for HD6XX is already sold out.
So I just got my 6XXs and have never bought custom cables. Are these purely for aesthetics, or do they actually serve a purpose for the headphones in terms of sound quality?
Thanks!

it is not balanced. Balanced in audio refers to a differential signal path using transformers or active circuitry to send audio down two conductors. With a phase relationship of 180 degrees. Such that when recombined any noise showing up in both signals is differentially removed. In most all cases balanced signals require a reference ground/neutral conductor. So 3 conductors per signal. All ‘balanced‘ headphone cables do is give the left and right signals their own discrete ground wire. The signals are not differential, there are not any active or galvanic balanced headphone cables that I can find. I’m also skeptical that there is any actual separation of the ground on the other side of the 4 pin xlr. More than likely it just ties the return pins together with a 10 ohm resistor.
Calaverasgrande
While you are accurate that balanced does not necessarily mean dual differential signal you appear to have misunderstood my post. The benefit for me is two fold, one is the differential balanced output via dual 3 pin xlr's over the odd 18 feet of run from my DAC to my headphone amps (noise reduction) and my specific amp's XLR output yields a lower output impedance and increased power output. I also need dual outputs or I have to split my signal, RCA to the preamp and XLR to the headphone amps. I never said that XLR headphone cables have any noise mitigation benefit.
How do these compare to the Fanmusic C6 Cables >https://www.massdrop.com/buy/fanmusic-c6-cables-for-hd6xx-headphones-andmore/talk#discussions
Note, the Fanmusic C6 Cable is 6.5 foot = 2m length. The -$15 on this venture electronics cables is misleading (only for 1.2m length) as it will cost +$10 extra for 1.8m so the price is actually about on par for both cables.
From what I gather.
Venture Electronics Cables: - No details on the actual quality of the cable or whats been used. Only that it is braided, MD themed colour. - Yongsheng connectors (Supposedly "Chinese" division of Ningbo Neutrik Electronics Co., Ltd) - quality is not on par (read: lesser than) compared to Neutrik, according to thread/community comments i.e. they don't fit as solidly and require some messaging into the connector when new. - 1.2m length. Optional: +$10 for 1.8m. +$50 for 3m.
Fanmusic C6 Cables: - claim to have used high-end professional Sommer cable from Germany, made of tightly braided oxygen-free copper that’s covered in fabric below the Y split - Neutrik connectors - 2m standard length. No option and no bullshit 1.2m.
My question is if anyone has both cables and can provide a comparison. Any thoughts???

Ursine Audio is great, but be prepared to wait 4 months for your cable. The 2-6 weeks wait on his website is very optimistic.
I got their premium cable, it has a smoother and more organic sound compared to stock. In some ways stock is still better as it has a better balanced sound. The difference isn't huge so I prefer the Ursine mainly due to their aesthetics, not their sound.
I got my set of cables (HD6XX, 4-pin XLR) from Amplifier Surgery and am very happy with how they turned out. Turnaround was only a couple weeks as well, which was a pleasant surprise.
which terminals would work with the massdrop + IEMS?
Are there any for beyerdynamic 1990?
lancek
The DT1990 has the same connector as most AKG-headphones have. So you got to look out for this tag.
To: Venture Electronics.
I assume if you were to make a custom cable on your website, this cable here on massdrop would be the same as a black litz cable with wire*8 (not wire*8 2 per sleeve?)?
If the one here on massdrop is wire*8 2 per sleeve then your saving like $10 for a 6 ft but have to wait a bit longer, And I want to know if someone can have a custom order on massdrop so I can also add a female 4pin xlr to male 2.5mm trrs black litz adapter which goes for $15 on the website (plus $3 shipping even if combined order)?
The price increase for 3m makes this deal breaker for me. I can get 10ft (aka 3m) with Neutrik connectors and Canare wire for less. I need long cables due to my seating position relative to my amps.
Will the hifiman's 2.5mm work with the Monolith M1060?
StevieRayVaughan
Yes they do, I use the same VE custom cables for my HE4XX, HE400i and M1060.
Zenwalker
Lovely, thank you for answering!
Now I just got to figure out which lenght will be the best.
