To the people who complain about the sound. You gotta open these up by using some pink noise and sweep tracks (http://www.audiocheck.net/testtones_pinknoise.php). At first they will sound thin and flat. But trust me, after you give them some proper burn in they push way above their price point. I mean way above. I only ran through my burn in tracks twice and it helped quite a bit. Use medium listening volume.
I've also found using a dac/amp helps bring out a good amount of detail, clairty, depth of soundstage, and imaging. I use the Centrance DACport HD (not to be mistaken for the Centrance Massdrop Slim Exlusive).
But these are so amazing for the price. Don't think any headphones in this price point can match these in terms of balance of sound in all ranges.
Bass is lacking a bit, but its not even a big issue since everything else is on point. There is quite a bit of sub bass, which is something I wasn't expecting.
Also to note, these Blue Monks sound better then the original Monk Plus. The frequency range is much larger then the original as well.
To me, these give the feeling of wearing full size open headphones. Which is so freaking strange and amazing at the same time. I use them with the thin foams they come with. I doubled it up and it sounds really good. Can't really use these without foams imho. One foam is ok, but two foams is where its at if you find the highs to be too harsh and the bass to be lacking depth and clarity.
ElixirThiefWell thats what happens when you work over 16 hours a day and hardly ever get a day off lmfao. Plus I got other headphones and iems I gotta burn-in as well...
BobLornaIt's the same thing. All burn in does is, warmup the drivers. Reason why you use pink noise is, it has all the frequencies in the noise. Instead of it taking you a long time to get the best sound out of your headphones, earphones or whatever, you can finish it up rather quickly, say 50-100 hours. Some headphones require more or less.
