Product Description
2019 is the year of the pig in the Chinese zodiac. To honor these trustworthy creatures—symbols of prosperity, wealth, optimism, and courage—Victorinox is making a limited-edition version of one of its most popular multitools, the Huntsman Read More
Love. I sure wish victorinox would have more options with blades that you could open with one hand though. I love this design, but other blade options. Would be sold upon seeing a one handed blade paired with some scissors on a nice design.

ohhhhhh...theyshippedmyctrlwithnostabilzerinthespacebar...nice.
edit: I know the above is a bit juvenile and hard to read, I was pretty frustrated at the time.
See below for the space-bar related conclusion
it is expensive for sure. But the design, especially the Chinese writing of pig, is traditional and elegant. Rarely to see such accurate design with Chinese element from Western brands.
NotsurewhyibotherOf course you can get a standard Huntsman under fourty bucks all over the place. You're paying a ridiculous markup for the collectibility aspect. I use the heck out of my gear so paying four times the cost for graphics on the scale and a cardboard box which will not appreciate in value even if left untouched for a dozen years is simply silly. On the other hand, this is less than you'll find it elsewhere such as Amahole. Money would be better spent on the Swisstool with the leather sheath.
Ispent less on a custom modded SAK with Ti scales. To each their own. Why a Panerai when a Timex will work as well(probably better)?
This looks like an amazing price; however can anyone tell me if the illustrations are engraved or just lacquered paint that can wear off? Maybe the asian verson has 2019 in Kanji, that would be my preference. Other than the year, it's a beautiful design, more traditional than this year"s version
stevesurfthe 2018 you showed is painted and coated, from experience the paint on the normal side wares faster than the decorated side so it should last a pretty long time
(the experience i mean is i got rubbing alcohol on it and it melted the paint on the panel, the painted panel was completely unscathed)
I'm Chinese, and a pig. Id buy it if the mark up weren't so high. Like, 50, maybe even 60 and I would.
It will definitely be bought as a gift though.
Appropriation vs appreciation, can be hard to tell. But at a $40-$50 mark up, if go with the former.
If it were in an actual wood box, that was at least a little bit nice, for presentation, I could see it.
As for the looks, I don't think it's ugly. Red and gold are the standard colors for wishing someone good luck and good fortune in Chinese culture.
Will Drop ship it in a protective box or like the Year of the Dog, just put it in a simple padded envelope ? My YOTD knife box arrived completely crushed, and the box is a key part of this commemorative knife. Drop did give me some credit to my account, but I’d be reluctant to order again if packaging will again be sub par.
