The Airboss series by Victorinox features a range of different military-styled watches. These two models, the Mach 4 and Mach 7, are equipped with Flieger-style hands with luminescent inlays, and both offer luminescent hour markers and numerals. In addition to inner and outer chapter rings, the watches feature an internal countdown bezel. This bidirectional bezel can be controlled using the oversize, knurled crown at 2 o’clock. The crown at 4 o’clock, which is slightly smaller, sets the time and date. Both the Mach 4 and Mach 7 also feature a skeleton caseback.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of the Mach 4 (40 units) or Mach 7 (45 units).
The most noticeable difference between these watches is the subsidiary seconds dial between 6 and 8 o’clock on the Mach 4. This creatively designed complication counts from 0 to 30 on the white portion of the semicircle, and from 30 to 60 on the black portion of the semicircle. The long hand points at the white portion, while the short hand points at the black portion. Also noticeable are the oversize numerals at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock on the Mach 7. Less noticeable are the mechanical movements. While the Mach 4 is hand-winding only, the Mach 7 is equipped with an automatic movement that winds itself as the wearer moves about.
