Apparently, there's no warranty offered here. Which frankly, is hard to justify. Virtually all reputable new watch sellers offer a warranty, either their own or from the manufacturer. I don't understand why this watch does not come with a Victorinox warranty...assuming it's brand new, and not a "second" or something not new. It's a very nice watch, and MD's price is $80-$100 less than other vendors. I collect watches and am very fond of Victorinox, but in my opinion, it's not worth the risk without a warranty.
cgalnyHere's how I look at it. If it's $80 cheaper than a vendor that offers an 2-year warranty, then what are the odds that I'll need more than $80 of servicing in those 2 years? Then I decide if the trade-off is worth it.
apapercutThat's exactly how I look at it, too. I've bought a lot of new automatics over the years, and even if the odds of my needing to spend money to repair it are slim...it's still something I'd rather not have to think about, even just occasionally. But this is a very nice automatic. And I'm very find of Victorinox automatics, and am trying hard to NOT buy one.
All right, shipping notice! Now to see the ETA - I'm leaving for a trip abroad in three days and thought there was no chance I'd have the watch before the trip based on a ship date of 5/4, but now my hopes are up. Fingers crossed I'll be setting off the airport security alarm with this beast on my wrist!
There is some reflection but it doesnt stop me from reading the watch at a glance. If you were planning to use it to time splits in a sunny yacht regatta or something it might be a problem, but for everyday use, no issues
Hello All. Looking at the discussion, there appears to be a lot of speculation about whether there is a warranty provided on these watches from the vendor, manufacturer, whether only in the US or abroad...would someone from Massdrop PLEASE respond officially so we have word one way or the other as to this question...most watches I see sold on this platform do come with one. I read that Massdrop also has a policy on DOA merchandize. Again, Massdrop, please give us an official answer...we are anxious as many of us have either joined the drop or are contemplating same. Thank you.
injurylawyeraccording to my interactions with MD support ... there is absolutely no warranty unless the drop page explicitly states that there is a warranty... there is no warranty.
I get it that some people were upset that the silver model went so fast, I went to buy one on day one but they were sold out. I kept checking the drop and one came available on day 3 and I jumped on it. I continued checking availability and on day 5 the silver model with braclet was available for 12 hours. So if something you want is sold out just keep checking I found that more often then not someone will drop out. Good luck to all.
cbrothSame experience and then one opened up and I grabbed it. Some have pre-drop jitters and change their minds. That means that the watch is now open for the taking. I guess while the drop is active that is a good thing because people have time to think about it even after pulling the trigger and if they don't want it, someone else will.
cbrothI got my silver dial bracelet just a few hours before the drop ended. Originally ordered the black a week before because the silver sold out. Checked back daily and low and behold, I got lucky on the last day.
Not really one to review stuff but would just really like to point out how incredibly accurate the movement in this automatic watch is! Good job Victorinox on selecting Valgranges A07.211 movement! Just to give an idea it is within + or - 1 sec off each day. Last 5 days, 2 separate days off wrist and 3 days on. The watch is only 2 sec off of what I set the time at 5 days ago (referencing world clock)! Probably the most accurate automatic watch I ever owned sub $2000. Easily passes the COSC chronometer grade, if it wasn't for the display back I would think this is a quartz watch... it is a bit thick at 15mm so maybe they did hide a quartz regulator in there ;)
Thanks. I am not saying this watch is not worth 300 USD or 450 USD. Just saying MD should be careful to put a reasonable prices as MSRP. That's all I am saying. They can change the term from MSRP to another thing and put prices showing minimum price on the market for the genuine unit.
In my country these watches are pretty cheap. You get it for about 400 usd directly from a victorinox store ( not as an special offer ). The shipping and costums ruin the deal.
Seriously, what the shit is this drop ? The Silver dial model was sold out after 60mins sales time top, The black model didnt get sold out and now massFLOP ended the drop 1 day and 6+ hours to early... DAFUQ ?!?
I will do that, and I will time it and check the time when I do it with the Brand New Victorinox Ambassador Automatic Chronograph Watch that I have coming in the mail......
