I'll probably continue using my Opinel with a corkscrew. This thing lacks the style of the Laguiole to charge that much, and practicality of the Opinel.
I dunno, I bought my Opinel and my friend had to buy something "cooler" and it was Laguiole. Opinel is much more durable, simpler in construction and in fact loved by a lot of bushcrafters as a go to EDC knife. Laguiole is of course more of a "gentleman's knife", but still is a very nice option for opening a bottle and slicing some cheese :) I thing opening and closing will get better if it's not that smooth originally, but it's definitely first and foremost a style item.
My point is that if you want style - go for Laguiole, if you want practicality - use Opinel. And with this price tag, I'm not sure where Victorinox is, it's hard to see it's target audience, except the Victorinox fans.
Realtalk that is a lot of money for a (admittedly nice) wine key with a folding knife attached to it.
Although I guess spending that much money on one would guarantee you'd never forget it? "Oh a PICNIC you say let me fetch my PICNIC WINE MASTER posthaste!"
Why so much more expensive than other Victorinox knives - you can get ranger models in wood for half the price. Unless the blade is upgraded from the typical Victorinox steel, it doesn't seem value for money.
This is nice, but rather pricey for a corkscrew.
Victorinox makes (or made) a 'cheese' knife. It has a special blade designed to reduce resistance when slicing through cheese. I've only ever seen them on eBay for $40-$50.
Please consider making the SAK cheese knife available to Massdrop fans at a competitive price. After all, what goes better with wine than cheese?
Man, I wish I was a big enough fan of swiss army stuff to pick this up. It is the first genuinely attractive knife I have ever seen from them, and damn is it attractive. That said, $130 is too much for me this time.
Cool knife, very handsome. Too expensive for my tastes, but it seems to have everything the wine connoisseur needs.
One suggestion for Victorinox: how about adding a cap lifter (i.e., bottle opener) tool to this and the Cheese Knife? I love my Victorinox Cheese Knife for picnics, but sometimes, I have a bottle of something else to open, such as beer or root beer. It'd be great if I could take just *one* knife for all my picnicking needs.

Is this price for real? It's not like victorinox makes bad stuff, but last time I checked, they used "stainless steel" with no name. And last time I tried to sharpen one, it developed the longest burr I have ever seen because the steel was so soft. I don't think their typical quality deserves this price. So unless there is a serious differentiation here from their usual offerings (which I'm not seeing in the description) then this price seems absurd.
