Hi all, here is a bit more information about the brand for those who have not heard of it:
Vostok-Europe is a Lithuanian-based manufacturer; they are a separate entity from Vostok of Russia. All watches are designed and manually assembled in Lithuania by a team of seven master watchmakers. The size is a bit larger than modern trends, as they are designed and tested in extreme conditions; every Vostok-Europe watch has a water resistance of at least 200M.
They also build every watch around an inspiration, so there is a story to go with each watch. In this case, it is the Expedition North Pole 1, which was a 9 month floating ice station that left from the North Pole in the 1930s and did scientific research over roughly 3,000 miles in the arctic. Hope this helps!

Too large. They should have dropped classic Vostok.

A hockey puck you can wear on your wrist. Outstanding! Invicta finally has a competitor.

mineral crystal is a turn off - a watch with an MSRP of 419 should really have a sapphire.

Still not as durable as a sapphire and the internet reviews claim it still scratches.
I've had many mineral crystals scratch, but never a shattered sapphire.

I happen to know about this brand. So i guess my question is do you really want to know what all goes into this watch or were you just being rhetorically derisive?

47mm diameter and 17.5 mm thickness? That's a bit too large for me

nnoah6It's perfect for me at 6'4". I'll have to seriously consider this one and sell the Edox I bought here recently.
