The  Vstarcam cameras can support ONVIF 2.4 protocol, Theoretically, it can support connect to Synology NAS , I am not sure about whether it can work.The following link is Guide for how to set NAS, for your reference.https://www.securitycameraking.com/securityinfo/how-to-integrate-an-ip-camera-with-a-nas-network-attached-storage-device/
What I would like to know is, does anyone make a small portable universal monitor for use in the house so I don't have to use my phone? It would have to work with all brands as I have one pointing my mailbox/frontdoor to watch for packages and another brand to watch my dogs lose their minds out back in this massive backyard I have now. They love it but I like to see them fly by the cam so I know there ok. Or can I build one? Thanks yous guyses!

You can use Eye4 app only .
Check out the specs and reviews on Amazon. I was going to join this drop but a common thread in the reviews is that after a while, it stops working and has to be restarted to get it to work.

Please change the camera to different adapter(with the same voltage) and power sockets to test, to see if it caused by unstable power supply.
Will this work with iSpy, Blue Iris, or other CCTV software?
KernelKurtz
Camera supports Onvif 2.4 protocol . Theoretically, it can support connect to Blue Iris   and iSpy, I am not sure about whether it can work.
Does this have PTZ or just manual adjustment?
Also, any idea if it's Blue Iris compatible?
Cake0D
it supports PTZ. you can slip screen of camera real-time image on Eye4 app . then camera will move up or down , left or right . Camera supports Onvif 2.4 protocol . Theoretically, it can support connect to Blue Iris  , I am not sure about whether it can work.
Power Over Ethernet?
PinderNET
it doesnot support POE . it works on power plug .
can you set up a recording to the cloud? and have it size/time limited. as in, eireless storage incase someone breaks in and steals the camera and destroys the SD?
kidcobb
our cloud storage can be free trial three months in USA, Canada and China .The South-East Asia trial amount is 0.99 U.S. dollars. The cloud storage only record the motion detecion .
Howdy Everyone,
Thanks for flagging the lower price on Amazon. We were able to go back to the vendor and work out a better cost. We are now beating Amazon and the lower prices are in place.
Cheers. @DINOSPUMONI
Does it have a web interface? Can it setup without the app?

Actually they do. The best interface provided via Internet explorer. The camera is awesome. it allows you to set schedule and let it send email upon alarm triggering. It is also possible to record sound files and let them play when the camera sees movement and is in alarm mode. Only one problem that i have is the lack of cloud. As of now you can either record everything on microsd card and then see it via application. I´ve set up the Windows IOT on rasbery pie 3 that would copy the Sdcard and transfer it to onedrive cloud. This way i´ll have the recording s even if the microsd gets destroyed.
leyaniv
we don't suggest setting via web. you can view camera via app of pc or phone .
This is $55 on Amazon, what's going on MD ..
very nice. so far everything works well. I had an issue when paring the device to app. Well, its not an issue, i simply didnt read the instructions well enough. This camera works with 2.4 ghz wifi not 5.0 So i coudnt see the camera on my phone till i changed the wifi freq :) I would love to hook remote button to start and stop recording without use of the app

Sorry that we can't make the camera to be 5GHz wifi supportive for the moment, sorry for the inconvenience caused. In fact, 2.4GHz wifi is more stable and can cover wider range.Do you have a dual band router? If so, please enable both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi, name them differently, and connect the camera to the 2.4GHz wifi. Thanks!
Can this be used outdoors and is it powered by battery or a cord? Also can you install this upside down
ancessca
Yes, it can be used outdoors. It powers by a cord. if you place it outdoors ,pls make sure the cord is long enough. You can install it upside down. then you can flip the picture in phone APP, on the APP, please go to parameter settings--video viewing and turn on the 'vertical mirror.
I'm thinking about getting this to monitor package deliveries through the front window. I'm assuming this is mains-powered and not battery powered? Would love a battery-powered one though.
Also, we have had attempts at stealing packages left at the door during the night (whole other topic though. :-( ).
glennac
This model of camera doesnot support a battery-powered.
Can I use this camera to document paranormal activity?!

Always the entertainer. Careful, I don’t think the seller is a native English speaker. 😜

The dead use Google Translate, so can he!
I´m planing to make my own software for this camera, make it to turn on when none of my family members around. Record some sentences so it will greed me and scare away intruders :) Make it follow unrecognized person for extra effect :)
True_Vladimir
There is a feature about motion detecion on camera . You can turn on the motion detection on eye4 app . then when something objective is moving , the app will get the alarm message . then you can view it what happens.
Do cameras like these still get pwned immediately after you install them? Or do they have better security nowadays?
Tigerman
They did some job on security, such as closed external network IP and port login, camera communication encryption, forbid ed key ini file download and a lot staff I don't understand. However, I wouldn't believe anything is 100% secure nowadays.
Darkviking
Thanks. I've always liked the idea of this sort of camera, but the potential risks of having strangers take over your cameras is pretty scary, so I haven't got around to doing the research needed to make sure they're secure.
Is it onivf compliant?
Gsx95
Yes, it is.
Gsx95
Support Onvif2.4
I hate to point this out, but the one thing your VStarcam C38S 1080P camera lacks is 1080P.

haha, i must say that you have really a good sight in it. But welcome you to checking other brands to compare with ours to see whether their 1080p can did 25fps or 30fps or not? i am also intersted in it~
Yeah, there are 3 different streams in app to choosing, the high level means the 1920*1080, you have got it!
Anyone have this or the Clever Dog camera?
treal512
I got one and used for a while. it's quite easy to set up , just need to follow the instruction on manual. I am very satisfied with the main functions I am looking for, mobile device remote access and control camera, 1080p@25fps video is much better than other cameras' 15fps choppy image, night vision is enough for a room, tilt/panning through swiping on the phone. It worked as good as other more expensive cameras did.
