WE has sooo many beautifull knives, why does Massdrop drop this one twice in succession when there are so much better options?
Bloodwing
Probably trying to fulfill their end of the deal with the distributor, after none sold the last time lol
I'm glad to see not 1 was purchased. Maybe they won't waste our time anymore with ridiculous drops that are worthless. I thought the point of this website was to get a great deal on stuff.

716 is a better looking model, try offering that.

See, there's this thing we like to call "subjectivity" where what you think looks better might not be what everybody thinks looks better. For example, I think that this one looks better than the 716. How about that?
XxENIGMATICxX
ok.
This is not a great deal. Blade hq has these for $253 so if theres a problem with it blade hq will back you 100%. A good price on massdrop that would sell quite a bit would be $199 I'll be surprised if more than 10 are purchased on this drop.
It's not too bad looking, but why such a tiny blade? I'd rather get 2-ZT0350's for around the same price ... one for each hand ... same size blade, more practical, IMO anyhow.

I really hope you are not paying upwards of $300 for a ZT 0350 :-) They go for around 110-120 on average, and are a definite must-have. They are also one of the few remaining ZT knives not insanely expensive. MAP pricing is almost entirely to blame there though.

I actually have a 0350 with the tiger striped blade, I bought that the week it came out for a little under 200. That model is pretty old now. But the ZT's I buy are 250 and up
This knife sells for $253 on bladehq...not need to wait for the drop...not worth it.
ITtech
agreed. this is just not worth it, massdrop shouldnt even have offered it at this price. it is insulting

And with, in my opinion, some nicer color options (though personally, I wouldn't buy this anyway... Not a fan of the shape of this one myself)
Sorry to see that WE has followed Spyderco's lead and don't really give you a discount. This is the same price as retailers and you won't have to wait.

The Sea monster is a love it or hate it design (mostly a hated). Many of WE's designs are like that. I like the fact that they offer each model in a variety of colors. You rarely have to mod a WE. They do it for you. As for overpriced, I'm not buying that. When WE came onto the scene, they were selling their knives for $300. Most models are now around $250. Their budget line gives you 3D milled G-10, D2 steel, ceramic bearings, titanium hardware and clip for $100. You have to admit that a Delica in FRN and VG-10 at $75 is outrageous when you look at Real Steel, Bestech and Ruike knives. Many Spyderco's too are beyond ugly. That Tighe Stick was a monstrosity. It was originally over $400. At that price, I'd get a Chris Reeve knife. I do like that Spyderco has some nice sprint runs and experiments with different steels, but most of their knives are just plain overpriced. I just got the WE Eschaton (only 700 CF's made) and the Zeta (only 700 made) and I believe they will fetch a premium in the future. I agree most aren't hugely collectible because they are still in production. I truly believe Spyderco and Benchmade will suffer from their unjustified price increases and inferior materials in an increasingly competitive market. Have a good weekend. I enjoyed the talk.
$50? You exaggerate.
Looks bad ass to me if I can swing it I will order I one on this drop or in the future!!
This knife is as fugly as it gets...
Beautiful knife. Too bad I cannot purchase this @ the moment

Why go out of your way to be negative?

I don't think I went out of my way. In any case this design provokes very strong feelings for me.
This is supposed to be an online community where people freely share their views. I shared mine, you don't have to agree.
I recommend waiting a few week for the retailers to start offering this. This is probably going to cost the same(similar item cost $253.30 at BladeHQ) and they almost always provide free shipping. You can shop around different retailer to avoid tax too. Sure you can buy it first here(for much expensive total cost), but you are not going to get it first..
I am a huge fan of WE and have a few different ones from them. This one even though it is M390 just doesnt do it for me.. I could not carry this one.. Now if we could get a drop of the new Slipstream 714 I would be all over that..
By the time yours arrives in mid December, I will have already had mine for three weeks at the same price. THESE "DROP" AT KNIFE RETAILERS IN TWO WEEKS.

According to WE, massdrop has an exclusive for 6 months.
Knife companies are notorious for getting their specs. wrong. Many reviewers prove that when they do the measurements.
I've never been a fan of flashy knives, but WE (and/or whoever designed this one) definitely knows how to make them. If I wasn't currently devoting my meager funds elsewhere than knives I'd probably have joined. Hopefully this is a successful drop so Massdrop brings other interesting designs like this one in the future.
Didn't expect to see this one! Nice but a little too weird for me... I'd probably rarely use it. For you fastener aficionados out there, note the titanium Torx screws, which are made in-house by We to precise specs.
(Are those round holes in a knife blade? Don't tell Spyderco!)
I like that blade shape. Thing has more belly than Lena Dunham.
But yeah, I’m thinking the blade length should have been 3.5” at an absolute minimum for that stated handle size. Still a nice design though, with an absolute top of the line blade steel. I wonder how much attention this WE company pays to their heat treatment.
Are the pictures an optical illusion because that blade appears longer than any 3.3 inches....specially with a 5 inch handle that the blade seems to fill up

Probably would have been more accurate! I'm just guessing on the explanation, though, to be fair...
engearment_dave
I understand you lol can't even blame MD for the info either seeing as how it says the same info on WE's website lol
Any way to get a picture of the frame lock side?
