Should I even consider getting these for everyday use? I have never tried high-end earphones before, and up until this point I have only ever touched very low-end earbuds. I could see myself using them for 1-2 hours daily, but I have no professional equipment, so they would be plugged directly into my phone (Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge) and used for music, podcasts and videos. I almost jumped on the Noble X drop, but the shipping date was really off-putting, so I was thinking this might be a good entry into the high-end IEM market instead.

ChappleThis is basically what I plan to use mine for, listening to music while commuting to work. Would they sound better plugged into some high end gear yes, but good IEMs will still sound better than cheep ones regardless of what they are plugged into.

ChappleSo, if it doesn't hurt you to buy these you can use them from your phone of course. The Galaxy S6's DAC is kinda good for a phone. There might come the day, when you're gonna buy some more hardware :) I think this wouldn't be an error if that helps. From what I've read the sound signature of these are into the direction of something most people ( not talking about most audiophiles) are used to. Don't own them myself and also I am no expert, but again: If you have the money and it doesn't hurt you, I think you're most likely gonna be happy with these.

ChappleI am very close to making these my first Massdrop purchase, and currently the only thing holding me back is the 25% extra tax I have to pay on top of the 22$ shipping, because I live in Norway. As far as I can tell there are no Westone items being sold here, period, so it ends up being cheaper regardless, but it still stings.

Chappleyep tax is annoying but it would be in the price otherwise in Norway I assume. I will have the same or there abouts to pay. We can all cry together once we have them. Plus...meh, we only live once, right!

ChappleI had another thought on this. one day, your best friend might be something like the E18 Kunlun from Fiio. It is perfect for android phones and can be strapped to them for portable use. DAC/AMP combo and can even act as external battery for stuff (not as dac amp at same time). It has a bass boost too for when you want more low end out of iems.

ChappleI bit the bullet and joined the drop, and I definitely appreciate all the feedback. Although I am not eager to wait weeks for the shipment to arrive, these will be nice for the university commute.
