I,m kind of very let down, and confused with this drop, since the Price of USD$999, is for the 2nd gen on woo site , and the WA7D duo there , is priced at 799, so , it is only a 100 rebate... , Besides that , the really interesting item and rebate should be on the newer model, WA7 2 gen, which i would definitively buy on a fair discounted price..... that would be a real Great Drop to spect from Massdrop!!.

CollectiveMindQuite right, exactly what I was thinking. This is not such a good deal after all.

1. $799.00 - $649.99 = $149.01. This is neither a "rebate" nor a difference of $100. It's an additional sale discount of $149 on a previously discounted item. It's equivalent to a posh piece of clothing at Saks Fifth Avenue that was on sale already and, for a brief time, got reduced even more.
Also, this is the second-gen WA7. The new one on the Woo Audio site is the third. The first generation WA7 isn't being offered for sale at all.
2. This is the best deal ever offered on the WA7d and it is a better deal than the one on the Woo Audio site by nearly $150. Are you saying that $150 means nothing to you?
3. The newer version is more interesting in terms of the improved DAC and RCA outs, but it lacks the dual digital in and isn't going to hit $649.99 for a long time -- if ever.

VarholiaglimpHi, Varholiaglimp 1.- Ok, i just expresed my confussion, and let down on two factors;
Because of the pricing on the Woo site of the WA7d compared to the price of the 2nd generation in the same site, and the relation with the percent showed in Massdrop. Apparently i was not the only one mislead by that. i did not know then, and was not on first sign or clearly to be found, that the item was already priced down there. ( this price down i supposed, had to be because of the introduction of the new 2nd generation priced at 999 ¿? does make sense to you as a thought in that way, that the first generation would be priced down just because of the introduction of the new model ?. hence the confussion ?.
Quite interesting what you mention about the 3 generations !. That info is also not to be found in the woo site, or at least i can not find it. thank you for that :).
2.- Fair point .. you are right on that, USD150 IS a diference.
3.- Well, i dont know if you are direct linked to the company owner, or are the owner, but in terms of pricing and market, being so sure about a fact like that is risky, as an example, the Lacking of double input digital funcionalities, but better sounding, is ok for a lot of other people, and meaningfull to get the 2nd generation, and stretch to get the vacuum tube power suply. my point is that on a 649/ 1399. a lot of people would stretch to get the the most configurable combo in terms of customizable sound. so a bundled offer with a good price on that item. being an introductory promotion, makes a lot of sense , and a priced down to that level can become a very sucessfull sales strategy, since massdrop is a private sales channel and this price is not open to the whole public. my two cents :)

CollectiveMindNo, I'm not affiliated with Woo Audio or Massdrop (or I wouldn't involve myself in these discussions as a consumer -- that would be dishonest). However, I am quite certain of the MSRP on the WA7d, since it's listed on the product page. And yes, your confusion is understandable, which is why I've posted more than once on the same subject. Other people, too, were confused.
Hey, if you can convince Woo Audio to reduce the price of the newest iteration of the WA7, get to it! It's a beautiful and versatile device that can function as a preamp if you don't have too many sources. The sad fact for me is that I'd need the RCA outs and DAC from the new version and the Toslink/Optical in from the WA7d.
The iFi iDSD Micro Black Label has all of that, but it uses a battery rather than A/C and is solid state. Still, if that sounds like a better choice to you, then check the deals discussion thread on Head-fi. Last time I looked, Buydig offered the BL for $380 with a coupon code.

VarholiaglimpThank you, I just Bought the Ifi IDSD Micro BL, ( was not able to resist the temptation... even owning already a Oppo Ha2se), It was that or the jotunheim. i suppose i will ending using the dac section and as a preamp for a Tube ( if i even go there ). i am even considering to buy the wooa Eclipse, but first i have to decide between that and the ether c flows.... if you ask your your self, what the hell i am doing with so many portable devices, i t is easy, i would have to set 3 or 4 desktop rigs, and on holidays it is the perfect time to be admiring the landscape and hearing music !!... so, portable is the way i have decided to go ... as a matter of facts i´m wondering if there is really a big difference this days between portable and desktop on this kind of hardware, for example... class d Can be teeny and sound incredible !, ( check wyred 4 sound ) anyway , thank you for your advice and previous words..
Ahhh one last thing, the Ifi, goes on Ac if you power it after the laptop, I am sure you will find this review quite intesresting : https://www.head-fi.org/threads/ifi-micro-idsd-black-label-in-depth-review.833933/
