Got mine today... had my thoughts if it could replace my now defunct Pono...
...well the circuitry might not be in the same league but I am loving the X3.
Supports all my HD music, the sound quality is good enough that I can barely feel any difference with the pono and it can drive my Fostex mk IIIs!
I love the fact that it has actual physical tactile controls! No more getting the player out activating the screen in mid sunlight and fumbling with touch controls, no more finger prints on the screen also.
Being almost forty the design and simplicity reminds me of the time when mp3 players were curious gadgets not yet reaching maturity and that is one of the things I have liked the most.
Peter Gabriel, Tori Amos, Pink floyd, Oasis... they all sound amazing, yes I would recommend it to a pal.
A happy customer.
