Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Stellar job finding it - I scoured their site and couldn't find anything.
UPDATE: I actually hashed the internal driver that that package spits out, and it is identical to the one from the cd. The outer package (zip file in your case) is different, but the driver that gets installed in the end is from "XMOS_EVAL_KITS_DriverSetup_v3.34.0.exe", with the same date/time stamps and checksum / hash.
Still, nice to have a package that you can open without playing tricks with 7-zip.
The first time I tried re-installing the driver, I still had several issues, so I went the generic route, which hamstrung the device's capability. So I went through the process I described in my original post, cleaning out any non-device specific Xmos usb driver I had on my hd. Once I did all that, and reinstalled from the link I posted, and followed the instructions on the PDF to the T, everything ended up working fine again.
Also, if you look in the file when it is uploaded onto your hard disk, there is an installation for driver signatures. I'm pretty certain that it gets installed automatically, but in case there are any issues, one might try to run the signatures installation file, too.
Thanks again for posting.
