Drop Mech Keys Meetup Recap - Thanks for Visiting!
As you may have seen, we just hosted our first meetup in quite a while here at Drop HQ (Corsair HQ, but they seem to like us enough :) )! It was a blast to get to meet so many enthusiasts local to the bay area—it had been 10 years since I was last hanging out with keyboard nerds in the bay, at KeyCon 2014. We had a great time hosting everyone at the offices, checking out all the very nice boards y'all brought, and sharing some of our own projects/spaces! I knew it would be fun to host in the Game Room when I first saw it in person, but seeing it come to fruition was still so cool. Alright, I'll stop blabbering on now. xD Picture time! (Oh, real quick - there will be more of these! Stay tuned for more info and to catch the next one!)

I live in a very dry climate, which I think attributes to the fact that I'm not having any of the stuck keys that others are reporting. I also had no issues changing out the keycaps. I tried a few different variants, but ended up going back to the whites, I just like the look.
The number and variety of lighting modes was a pleasant surprise as well, and I just figured out a few minutes ago, accidentally while typing, that the color modes can be changed on every single one of the color options. The custom color mode is great, would be nice to be able to add different varieties of pulse to that as well, but at that point I think it would be easier to do with an app on the PC side to upload a new pattern/animation to the board.
I wasn't sure how I'd feel about not having n-key rollover, but I haven't found a game or a typing situation where I'll be hitting 6/7+ keys in the same row. I tried all of the keyboard tools I had, and while I can reproduce the reported issue, it's only in testing that it seems to matter.
Thanks @XMIT for all of your hard work putting this drop together. Comparing the board to the pictures of the original that you had, it even looks a lot cleaner in this release.
(p.s. I thought I ordered the lighter weight springs as well, but didn't receive them. I haven't been able to find the paperwork to show that, but if I do find it, I'll open a case with Massdrop)
Good luck everyone with your boards; the concept of Hall Effect that prompted me to buy the board in the first place, is still cool, and the implementation is excellent. Happy typing!
