What is SpaceFN and why you should give it a try
The SpaceFN concept - setting up your space key as a layer switch when held - is probably one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby. Let me explain how it works. My SpaceFN article on kbd.news made some rounds recently - quite surprisingly given the age of this concept. This piece you're reading is a condensed version of the full post. If you're left with unanswered questions, you'll most likely find the info you're looking for in the original write-up. On my imaginary top list of the most useful keyboard features, tweaks and hacks, SpaceFN would deserve a podium finish for sure. But what makes it so special? In short: SpaceFN is easy to implement, easy to learn, costs nothing, can be used with any keyboard, and can improve your productivity instantly. I will list its benefits below, but can state right at this point that the SpaceFN concept, setting up your space key as a layer switch when held, is clearly one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby....

Mine just showed up today, it's the 104 key acrylic. Looks pretty good, though I haven't opened the case to look on the inside. No sticky keys yet, also none of my key caps fell off when I held it upside down. Everything seems to be normal except that maybe a couple of the keys seem to have a different actuation height, but maybe that is just in my head. It does also have the strange blip on the breath mode that someone else had mentioned. Probably just a glitch in that mode.
I will say they could have finished the edge of the acrylic with some really high grit sand paper just to knock down the small bur from the cutting process and smooth the tooling marks. All in all I am happy with it. I would be curious to know what the response time of this keyboard is versus some other high end keyboards.
The instructions are on page 7 of the manual posted here: http://www.xmitkeyboards.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/XMIT-Keyboards-Manual-Letter.pdf.
I'll take your suggestions into consideration for the next round, thanks for the feedback!
