The story of damascus steel dates back more than 2,000 years. Believed to have originated in India, it’s made by folding layers of steel together in a unique pattern. Today, it’s characterized by distinct banding patterns resembling flowing water and has become known for its strength, edge retention, and aesthetic appeal. This pair of kitchen knives is crafted from 67-layers of VG-10 damascus, a high-quality blade steel imported from Japan. Because each layer wears at a different rate, it causes a micro serration that’s sharp and long-lasting. The handles, also made from stainless steel, are an extension of the blade, giving the user a secure grip for any task. Included is a 6.5-inch santoku for chopping veggies and a 4.5-inch utility blade for garnishing and working in tight spaces.
