I'm curious about the HVY and Silika drop you said would most likely go live in Feb. I've seen a few RooR drops, but I think most people, like myself, are interested in HVY.
Would love to! We spoke with them and they like the idea of what we do but the JET is costly and time intensive to manufacture. As such, offering large quantities at lower prices doesn't work with their current business model.
Hopefully this changes soon and we can get them listed, but until then, JET won't be listing anything on Massdrop.

Good news! We just ordered samples from ROOR for photos and testing. We will most likely launch in February. One thing to note, these pieces are very high quality pieces of glass that are made to order. The lead time for 100 units is 4 to 8 weeks which are made in Germany. You'll find that is the case for most high end glass in that large of quantity. We are very excited to offer ROOR to Massdrop users, so stay tuned!

Quick Update,
We're talking with a variety of glass blowers including HVY but bulk purchases for intricate hand-made glass pieces is proving difficult.
These guys generally work by blowing a variety of different pieces and selling each based on uniqueness. Obviously Massdrops don't work that way. That said, we're working on a solution and we'll keep you updated as the situation develops.

Look up the Jet SubZero, everyone. It's nigh indestructible and the word is it diffuses perfectly. Built in ashcatching, and markings on the pipe to help you find the perfect (very low) water level.

I've just finished speaking to the folks at Flo and hopefully this answers most of your questions.
1. Glass Sourcing and Quality
According to Flo, all the glass used to make these pipes, downstems, and sliders is 100% american Pyrex. They assure us no Chinese glass will be used in the manufacturing process. In addition, they explained that they use 100% american Pyrex for all their waterpipes. We've been told the Chinese glass speculation started when some folks started making counterfeit Flo products a couple years ago and they've been trying to dispel the rumors since.
2. Where are they made?
Flo has two primary glass blowing locations. One in central New York and one in California. These pipes will all be made in their central New York studio.

After going through a mountain of samples... and tobacco... we've got the best two options available in one buy. <br /><br />The listing is for two beaker style water pipes from flo, a glass blowing operation located in the middle of New York state. These pipes are hand-made with 5mm thick american Pyrex borosilicate glass. They also feature multiarm downstems for added diffusion and ice picks to keep your smoke cool. We're launching them. Flo is Chinese glass, assembled in the USA.
