Was an error in the time, it said it was supposed to last until 16:00 (8:00 PM) yesterday but ended at 08:00 (8:00 AM) instead, I was weirded out when I got an order confirmation at 8 in the morning... Maybe contact support?
i found these to be a good sound and well made despite their plastic housing. I also find they can be too tight a squeeze for those with big brains like the current PUSA and me. if you have a big head full of brains you probably wont want to wear them dor more than 40 minutes at a time. They aren’t anywhere as good as anything more expensive than $50USD so the current blackfriday sale is reasonable to say the least. I use these for djing and its because I dont want to break my +500 level brand which is amazing. Despite these being comparable to anything you over pay for at the sony store you will like the bass. I also never use the boost mode. I figure that might be useful if you are in a club and the club is loud and you are trying to dj but lets be real if you dj you are letting the dj controller do mix it while you mess with the color buttons.
Hey guys I bought Creative Sound BlasterX H5 Special Edition but it doesn't arrived yet. And I want to know which one is better. cause I really want to have 2 headphones in my desk so if you guys know anything about that, plz give me a advice
I bought these as a portable daily can, however I found the clamping was just too tight and wasnt all that comfortable. The cans sound great, especially for what you pay, but I wouldnt reccomend for long listening sessions. They are however very good for actual DJ use, so that's what I end up using them more for.
cant leave a review so i will here, instead.
i was worried i may have made a wrong purchase until i got these this morning and spent the day with them on
for reference, these cans are for my on the go use with a 4GB ipod nano...these are replacing my old AKG GHS-1 gaming headset i was using.
decent build quality yes, firm clamping force, my hd 6xx , pc 360 and ghs1 are etheral by comparison, yet i did not find any discomfort at all, the pleather(?) pading is nice too. i was freaked out by reading this so many times, but i dont have any problem, it must be all the rocks in my head
AWESOME sound, although admittedly im coming from a modest background for portable HP bass boost was fun to mess with for about 30 seconds, collectively...although when some of that was a dance track, i could see this being appreciated by the demographic DJ (im not). bass boost will be engaged rarely, if ever
love the cord, due to the detachable nature, and its perfect length for me, and ive found i can drop the ipod and it wont hit the floor, and hang suspended on the coiled cable...
i am VERY pleased with these, would recommend to anyone
i havent even tried them on my schiit stack yet! :)
can someone compare them to hd25?
Are these better than the akg m220??
For those thinking about buying. Its decent for what its made for. Dj use. To me Its best dj headphone i own as compare to ATH-PRO700MK2 and ultrasone DJ1 pro. I dont use it for listening so cant comment on that. Not very comfortable initially but broken in and very much comfortable now.

I dont use ultrasones in live environment. I found levels too low. I enjoy using ultrasones in studio and for listening. My K181 pads are getting bad. Thanks for this drop. I picked another one. So far this best for mixing and djing for me. Can anyone recommend a good pad replacement for this
densma
I'm finding the Brainwavz XL pads to do wonders for comfort and sound on every headphone that can accommodate their size. Each of the six models alter the sound character of the headphone, most notably a soundstage increase and frequency response. Since the K181 are warm and dark, the Perforated (pleather) model would likely suit them best.
15$CAD for S&H watch out ✌
First pair of AKG. Pleasantly surprised ! Went back and listened to some of my favorites (some kind of blue) and it it blew me away!
I'm interested that the ends of the bass and treble are perceived ... I do not know if these headphones will be correct...
would anyone recommend these for video editing? I'm on a bit of a budget and the $40 price from a brand like AKG seems very enticing. I don't know what kind of sound stage "Disk Jockey" headphones have to offer, I just need something flat and crisp.

Please don't tell people you need an amp for this when the rated impedance is 42 omhs, especially when the sensitivty id 112 db. Unless a headphone is 80 omhs or above, though this is subjective as well, most headphones can be driven easily on the go no issues or problem. The only potential issue would be if the source quality is crap, eg less than CD quality. I will add I don't have this particular headphone as I have more than enough good headphones for now so I can't comment on how it sounds but AKG rarely swing misses. Potential Good Value as echoed.

Give it a shot, I doubt you be disappointed for the price
Did anyone compare this one with akg k67?
My opinion about these - listening to them right now. Its a steal for this price but you need to know strong and week sides of those. Strong sides: very good sound quality in all frequency response, properly defined soundstage - not to wide not to deep, great isolation, possibility of bumping bass by mechanical switches on drivers, quality 50mm drivers, they will play loud straight from phone, you can use this phones on street or even bicycle. Week sides: big pressure on ears because strong clamp which hold those phones on your ears (thats why you can use those on bicycle). In total I was able to forget about clamping after half of hour listening because Im a Viking and yes bass boost work. This is steal for 40$$$ ... my subjective opinion.
Can they be used without a wire? I mean paired via Bluetooth?
I like the sound of these, can easily beat a pair of Beats headphones (no pun intended). Don't expect top notch audiophile-grade headphones, but for 40 bucks they are great as long as you don't mind the tighter clamping force (I personally don't and they stretch out over time). Other than casual listening, I also use them in my home studio and for doing live sound. Very handy in live sound since the ear cups are flexible and you can just pick up one side while they sit around your neck to check on solo'd tracks. The coiled cord can be a pain sometimes but if you DJ or do live sound they do ensure that you don't break anything if you accidentally walk too far away from the mixer with them on. They are made of plastic but can still take a beating. I've taken mine everywhere including in the rain and they still work great.
which headphones are better this pair or koss pro4s?
would like to know what to buy.

I guessed @YanDoroshenko meant the FR curve when he said "frequency response", otherwise it'll be silly to compare two headphones just by watching at the specs.
Well said.
I wish massdrop would stop trying to sell us junk like this and instead focus of providing better support and shipping on products people actually want.

Why are you calling them junk? Some people can't afford several mid-fi cans that cost hundreds of dollars, or ToTL cans costing thousands. Massdrop is keeping up the good variety, that's important in price variety, and so far over 100 people have purchased these.

They sell a full range of products.
For years I have used AKG-240 Studio headphones (I am on my third pair) when listing to vinyl in the 1980's and later when I began to edit sound for my videos . This AKG K181 fills a niche that is missing in my headphone collection. They are certainly much better than most earbuds and some of those cost in excess of $40.
Just a side note: When I purchased my Samsung Galaxy S8+, it came with some rather robust AKG earbuds, the best earbuds I have received when I purchased a new mobile phone
Good sound, but I could stand no more than 30 minutes of that uncomfortably tight head clamp, so I gave it away.
ikitikul
Yeah it's like that at first, but it eventually stretches out to a comfortable tension. Can't blame you for that though.
after getting these and using them for less thatn a year, its clear these are nowhere near the original akg k181 headphones. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT BUYING THEM
GOODKAT
but whats the difference
Package arrived Thursday and after a quick listen, I set these up to burn in about 35 hours. As I expected, the headphones have responded well and are much more listenable. The phones are solidly built and nicely finished, and feel high quality to the touch. I imagine they should last for some time. The coiled cord strikes an excellent balance with the length of the straight ends.
The bass boost adds an unpleasant thickness and dulls dynamics so it's staying switched off. Overall reasonable sound quality for their cost but definitely not an "audiophile" presentation. That seems to be in line with their mission as DJ equipment. I'm satisfied with the purchase.
like connected to the headset
does anything in audiophile have mikes??
BowlerTech
There are many high-quality recording microphones, including those made by some of the same companies that make headphones (AKG, Shure, Sennheiser, etc). None are designed or intended to attach to headphones and the really good mics cost more than 99.9% of headphones anyway.
This was my first attempt at dipping my feet into the Audiophile world, and while they're not perfect they do a good job at their price. I wouldn't let the measurements fool you, a phone will power it adequately, but an amp changes it SO much. When I got my first amp (Little Dot 1+) and plugged these in, it was like a different headphone. The sound didn't sound so far inside my head, there was actual soundstage, and they was better clarity.
Can i dj with this?
im tempted just for the shorter cable to go with the k7xx
Get them from Amazon free shipping them at least you can return them
Might as well get them from amazon for $69 then. Even after the full commit price and shipping, it will be about the same.
These headphones are good for everyday use (Cellphone music) correct?

42 Ohms is pretty low, and most phones will be fully capable of driving 42 Ohms. I use mine with my Nexus 4 and my computers without an amp just fine.
Thank you for your response ;) I'll have to give them a chance
When will these be delivered?
