First, a lot of people ask about weight and will the chair fit them. I'm 5'11", a bit over 330. You could say... squishy.
I'm writing this about 10 months after receiving the chair. This was my first racing style chair and is used as a gaming chair primarily (but also when I work from home).
Assembly. Putting the chair together was not too difficult from what I remember. I made sure there was a lot of room on the floor and that I laid everything out. I'm guessing that pretty much all of this style chair go together the same way. I think it took me around 30 minutes. Obviously, your timing may vary.
Size. It's very roomy for me. I attached the arms in the max width position (there's maybe an inch or two slot for the bolts, non-adjustable once assembled). Everything else is standard. I fill out the chair, but get a lot of support from the bolsters on the side. When I lean back, my head touches about 2 inches down from the top of the back. My shoulders can touch the sides of the back bolsters. I do not feel squeezed at all in the chair and can sit at an angle if I want to without my legs touching the arms.
Comfort. Everything just feels good about this chair. My butt might get a little sore after marathon work or gaming sessions, and that's my indication to get up and move a while. I took off the lumbar support, it just didn't work for me. The top pillow sits at the back of my neck and is very comfortable (they have since changed the pillow, the new one is bigger). The arms are up/down adjustable and are slightly cushioned. But overall, I can sit in this thing for hours without a problem.
Quality. Yes, very much so. This is the most important thing I can say about this chair: It is a quality product. I can sit far back, on the front edge, any position and never feel like I'm going to break this thing. The base and the wheels are great. The tilt works fine even though I rarely use it. I do constantly rock back on it though and it supports me no problem.
Problems. These things might be petty to you, and are to me, but I want to give full disclosure. There is a slight rock to the left that I think is the chair on the piston. It is very, very slight. Also, one of the plastic side covers was cracked, but functional. I'm sitting in it now trying to think of anything else, but there's nothing else I can think of.
Overall. This chair is excellent for big and tall people. My wife is small and looks like she's swimming in it, so it might not be ready for the slender crowd. Thankfully, if you fit in that category, there's another couple hundred chairs to choose from. Including another AKRacing rig I got for my kids. I'm actually thinking of getting another one of these for my basement rec room. I'm pretty much AKRacing for life now.
Tl;dr. Big guy, big chair. If you're like me and you're looking for a gaming chair, get one.
