LoqueYou would need very sensitive speakers for this amp since the wattage is quite low. The sp-bs22s are rated at 85db of sensitivity which means they will not get very loud with this one.
LoqueDon't even try it. You need at least 60 watts in my opinion to even get those close to respectable levels. Now a huge pair of vintage horn speakers though...
LoqueShould be acceptable for close field listening, but not more. This amp works best with 90dB+ speakers. Get some Klipsch bookshelfs, it will be plenty loud to drive you from the room.
LoqueThat is my set up in my room. I was skeptical but tried it anyways. It gets loud. Like the bass thumps and I can drive it harder than I can with amps such as the Lepai 2020 or SMSL 36A. Making it go louder would be overkill in a bedroom. Oh, it sounds like magic. People are consistently impressed when they are over. If you get it, upgrade the preamp tubes with GE JAN 5654s and the power tubes with 6P1P-EVs(vintage Soviet ones, you can get a lifetime supply for dirt cheap).
Alejandro508Curious about your audio source and what position you have to set the volume control knob with your speakers. With a DAC spec'd at 2Vrms, 100% volume on PC and Klipsch RB-15s with 92dB sensitivity turning volume on mine past 11 o'clock it starts to get uncomfortably loud for desktop use. I'm usually running it at 9 o'clock position but this is for close field listening.
