KometesYeah! Damp pockets! Do we have enough water-resistance for summer or swamp country weddings or our Hot Yoga classes? Or enough impact resistance for sweaty wet-pocket, drunken, slow dancing at said weddings? We need this kind of reassurance.
"the higher volume of gas results in more electricalenergy being created. More electricalenergy results in much brighter visible illumination."
@ArmourLiteThere's no electrical energy involved in radioluminescence. Perhaps "more electrons emitted from the beta decay of tritium" would be more precise?
Great to see a pocket watch drop, we need more of them. I would have rather seen a mechanical watch though. A quartz pocket watch kind of ruins the old school vibe.
Thorn74I agree. There is something so much more satisfying about a mechanical pocket watch. I still use my Great Uncle's Elgin from 1920, still works beautifully.
TegHardinAlvinI agree. Especially a pocket watch w/a protected see-through back, large day/date window, and simple but beautiful face and font. I'd be in for something like that in an iffy
In the Wonder Woman movie chris pine had a nice pocket watch with a special leather wrist strap. I would love to recreate that look. 🙄
By the way MD, your watch box is empty (someone stole your watch?) 🤣
I'd buy the heck out of this if it was Automatic! Don't need dual timezones, although the alarm but is nice. Not sure if you could do an Automatic with an alarm. I'd love to see one! Even if it limits the alarm length to keep enough power for the watch to keep time.
Wound it when I sent my reply to do a real world test. Still ticking along but it's below what is considered the "power reserve" tension of the spring now, I'd only give it a few more hours before it stops. The spring is mostly unwound now, bar a few rotations. Now that the tension is low the period is longer, so it's running slow and the remaining tension lasts longer.
Al_TheEngineerThe tritium markers are made in Switzerland and the movement is made by Seiko in Japan. Other parts are sourced both domestically and internationally. Assembly and the rigorous quality control process takes place at our headquarters in Miami, Florida.
Damn, this is super cool. I'm not one to always wear a watch (thanks @kunal for dragging me down that rabbit hole) and not gonna wear a pocket watch with a giant chain, but this looks great. I'd love to use this as a bedside clock I would take with me on days I don't feel like wearing a watch.
Oh I'm sure it would last many moves haha. Last time I moved across the country everything fit into my old station wagon, a wife and 3 cats later....Gotta go broke paying the movers haha. Mainly because of my 200+ keyboards.
I'll buy this next time for sure if you write a comment in the next drop on a mechanical keyboard ;)
