To guess where the Osprey from Artisan Cutlery gets its name, you only need to look at its large modified-sheepsfoot blade. Shaped like a huge claw (which the fish-eating bird uses to devour its prey), the blade makes quick work of slicing tasks with little effort Read More
This knife is a good knife , a solid lock up , sharp ,works great . Some might think it’s heavey but I carry the Osprey in one pocket & a Tomahawk in the other. Artisan Cutlery makes good working solid products for a very reasonable price.
Really fun blade to handle; makes mundane box cutting fun. I think that's pretty clearly what it's marketed for, so you certainly get what I assume most people are expecting.
Only reason it's not 5 stars: The liner lock, however, was really quite shallow, and was easily pushed aside with fairly minor pressure to the back of the blade (please excuse my lack of knowledge of the accurate terminology). Given how heavy the blade itself is - if the liner lock were pushed aside, which was fairly simple to do - the blade would be rather likely to smack downward in the most undesirable way. So I'd just suggest checking the clearance of the liner lock before getting too confident with the sturdiness of the lock.
I use this knife for electrical/pc cabling. Decent build quality and has a slight wobblw, but not enough to worry me. Lock functions well. Blade is nice and weighty at the tip.
I was worried about the size and being put in my EDC rotation, but it is splendid. The Black Curved G-10 plastic seems to scratch really easily. Other than that everything is awesome and exactly what I expect out of this price range.
This thing feels like its on bearings when deploying, very nice action. Very heavy and very sharp blade. Weaker detent securing the blade when folded up. Nicely constructed knife, definitely not a daily.
I went with the flat black, mostly to save money but also because I liked the way it looked with the flat G10 vs the curved. This knife overall is great and the action is nice but it's a bit on the large size for me. I'm only docking a star because it wasn't sharp when it first arrived.
It's almost comical for my use, murdering boxes, but I still love it.
