Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Very long and detailed post coming once this is resolved but here's a quick status report in the meantime.
Aune sent over a document explaining the 16bit/24bit situation completely in Chinese and we're working to translate it now (if any of you read mandarin and want to see the document, let me know via will@massdrop.com and I'll get it sent to you).
The document confirms the MK2 can operate at 24bit/96khz but the current driver software doesn't make the options clear. Essentially, Aune configured the DAC to give an option for 32bit (using a different control software than we currently have a link for) and as part of that process, the 24bit option was mis-labeled as 16bit.
We know this sounds strange, but rest assured, this will be resolved and all of you will be able to operate at an identifiable 24bit/96khz very soon. We're working on this with Aune as quickly as they respond to emails and we're hoping to have a resolution in the next few days. Sadly, Aune doesn't work on the weekend and its already Saturday in China so the earliest we'll have an update will be this coming Monday.
In the meantime, we're postponing this drop (all commits and joins have been canceled) until the confusion is resolved.
We really appreciate your patience and support with this drop and we're looking forward to updating you as soon as possible. This may be Aune's fault, but you're all Massdrop members and we're doing everything we can to make this right as quickly as possible.
Hopefully someone is able to translate that document for you guys, machine translations of Asian languages usually don't go well.
Luckily we have several native speakers on staff who have done rough translations, now it's about taking the translation and making it readable. No need for google translate : )
