Since establishing itself as a reputable name in the knife industry, Bestech has begun to branch out. For proof, look to the company’s G-10 collection, a series of quality folders at a more affordable price point than their traditional titanium frame locks Read More
namhodErgos are good. The G10 to me is a bit aggressive, so if it were my knife I'd sand it down slightly. I never mind getting a knife this way though because I like having that option. And the design pattern on the G10 is smart for overall grip and looks good too.
Just a solid, no nonsense beater knife. I don't especially care for the pommel/glassbreaker though. That thing seems out of place.
Based off the Lion which I really like. Great feel, blade deployment, solid blade. However the colors of the G-10 scales seem to lack imagination. With the exception of the Marlin with the two toned scales. Black, green, beige. Hope to see some more choices in future drops.
Just saying.
locura247I know black and green are the least expensive Micartas. Perhaps it’s the same in G10. Also, black is the most popular scale colour so maybe it’s the same for green and tan; maybe their accountant chose these colours for them... :)
Had mine for a while now and I am pleasantly surprised. This was my first bestech but based on this knife I have purchased 2 more. The knife is larger than I was thinking but built well. fit and finish are awesome and it’s a very smooth flipper for the price. I even grew to like the pattern on the scales. Overall a really good knife for the price.
Does anyone have both the Grampus and the Lion? I have the Lion already and they seem to be very close in functional design. They're close enough that I'm not sure I could justify getting this one as well.
Arie001It appears to be drop point here where as the lion is straight. Only difference besides the slight conturing difference is the grampus is half a mil thicker
That lanyard hole/glass breaker looks like it is an afterthought. A very uncomfortable afterthought, I picture it poking me while I sit or try to get other objects in my pocket. Nice looking knife otherwise!
ConceitedI have the Lion model and its great. I personally love the glass breaker spacer and it hasn't caused me any discomfort nor do I notice it when EDC'ing it. I really like the design of the Grampus and would expect it to carry similarly. Geez Massdrop, you're seriously killing my bank account 😀
I like the look of this knife.
I notice that the scales on the main picture looks different than on the other photos, however. Which is the real pattern on the scales?
K.T.NYou should follow the main pictures and not the other photos, since they are prototypes. If you look at other online retailers like BladeHQ they are showing the production item like the main picture too.
I’ve had a few Bestech models - couple of budget & the more upscale ‘Ornetta’ - and they’re a good value. Well made knives all around. No interest in this one simply because of the pointy thing on the tail. Can’t imagine that being pleasant to reach past to get in your pocket.
Gotta wonder what marketing genius came up with the name ‘Grampus’ too.
Hope that all who get one are pleased with their purchases.
That’’s about all. Peace out.
Just received my knife. New to the hobby, but I can at least tell it's really nice. Sharp and smooth right out the box. Compared to Maserin 392 it's huge and heavy. Need to be careful of the size and weight next time. This one will be going in the car, as originally intended, and is not fit for my EDC which I'm okay with.
I didn't like this design when Bestech knives first came on the scene, but it's grown on me. This is an incredible price that is hard to ignore. BTW I think the "Tan" color is really OD Green. Here's a picture from Bestech's site of the BG02C model:

It's not the black or green one so it's the only other option.
