Maarten123Not sure if this would help, but I had a brief session with the iBasso IT01 and just recently received my BGVP DMG.
I was quite disappointed with how the iBasso performed. The sound was muddy, lacking the details of the vocals and other instruments (such as cymbals and guitar). I believe the reason why it sounded muddy to me is due to the lack of sound stage and separation of individual instruments. Everything was forced to overlap each other. I was using the silicone tip for the demo session and was comparing it with my older JVC HA-FXD80 with Comply tips which for me personally, out performed the iBasso.
However it is a totally different story with the BGVP DMG. It beats the JVC and iBasso in clarity, details and sound staging. I am able to hear each instrument placement such as the hi-hats being on my right and a crash on a left. I can hear the sound moving about freely and not being restrained. I was able to discover some minor extra details from songs I have heard numerous times. It was like listening to my favorite songs for the first time again. Also I like that I am able to tune the DMG with filters to my preference which is a first for me. One drawback that I might have with the DMG is that the bass might be too overpowering with certain songs but thankfully the details do not disappear into the back.
TL;DR
iBasso did not sound good to me and the DMG is just amazing.
FAbs101Thanks a lot! Very helpfull indeed. I have looked around a fair bit but there seems to be no good comparison between the two on the forums. Too bad the drop closed.
FAbs101Thanks for the in-depth reply.
I actually didn't see this reply until now which was after I joined the drop, so i'm glad you have good things to say about these compared to the iBasso :)
Can't wait for them to come in.
